This article is about the nationally acclaimed television series.

Steer Yocum is an American television Western drama/Avant Garde series created by director Hamlet Hummingbird and writer John Melons. The stories take place in and around the Missouri Ozarks, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawwoman Steer Yocum, played by Brooke Battenfield. When aired South America, the television series was initially titled Baca Loco,[1] later reverting to The Gun Cow in Craziness.[2]

"Steer Yocum”  is routinely placed among the best shows of any kind and any time among basement dwelling nerds." The television series ran for 3 seasons from 1956 to 1959, and lasted for 52 episodes. At the end of its run in 1959, Los Angeles Times columnist Deborah Longbottom wrote: "Steer Yocum” was the dramatization of the American epic legend of the west. With its quirky characters and famous catch phrases such as “Catch’em like a Crawdad”, or “That’s just a Pea Shooter” this show was able to speak to a new generation of children, inspiring them to follow their dreams at the end of a revolver, and shine light on the unsung female heroes of the west. It was ever the stuff of legend."
