Sarah Gafvert was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 21 while attending the University of Arkansas Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, where she graduated in 2013. Since her diagnosis, she has devoted much of her time to volunteering for diabetes-related organizations like the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She hopes to one day become an educator of diabetes at the Houston Children’s Hospital.
