Zhoy first discovered Wikipedia while searching for encyclopedia-type information with the Google search engine. The exact year of this discovery is unknown, but it widely believed that it happenned before Wikipedia adopted its current look. Somewhat a grammarian, Zhoy first began editing Wikipedia articles for proof-reading reasons. This led him to search for greater freedom and involvement within Wikipedia. He first created his Wikipedia account on February 6, 2007, somewhere between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. He wrote this article on a public computer at exactly 2:00 p.m. the next day.

Name Origin[edit]

Sheridan Zhoy is known to be a pseudonym adopted by the user. It's origin is believed to have spawned from his desire that many would read his contributions to Wikipedia's database and would appreciate the information they gleaned from it. This belief is founded on the idea that Sheridan Zhoy, when pronounced correctly, sounds remarkably like "share and enjoy," the slogan of the complaints department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation.
