The South African Institute for Heritage Science and Conservation The South African Institute for Heritage Science and Conservation was founded in 1994. Currently candidate institution of Higher Learning in its home country and accordingly awaiting formal registration, the Institute has formally proposed the introduction of a postgraduate diploma programme, Technical Conservation Studies, for presentation from 1 February 2017. This nominally one-year, resident, full-time programme is currently awaiting the result of its accreditation bid before the Council on Higher Education.
