Shree Rajdal Battalion
[edit]Shree Rajdal battalion is a battalion situated at Lagankhel,Kathmandu.It is one of the main artillery battalions present in Nepal.Shree Rajdal battalion is one of the main hubs for the artillery equipment for Nepal.In the past it has had many famous commanders. The Battalion consits of approximately 650 soldiers and nearly 20 officers.The current commander of the battalion is Lt Colonel Purushottam Khadka.The compound of the barrack is quite big nearly the size of 20 football fields. The battalion also shares it's compond with the "Artillery Nirdeshanalaya".Inside the compound there are 2 football fields, one of them has a tartan track around it, it is primarly used by anfa and was also one of the venues for the "2013 SAFF U-16 Championship" . The barrack also consists of a sports complex , the sports complex has hosted some big games such as the Saaf Army Games . The barrack also has a temple,a tennis court, 6 kitchens along with an outdoor dining(with roof)etc.
