Southend Scorpions was officially established in 2001 when Daniel Garrard aged 11 signed up aged and put them on the map. Moira McCann is officially the owner and chairman of the club based in Southend - on - Sea. Daniel Garrard met Moira McCanns son, Alistair McCann when he got adopted by St. Thomas More for Boys, it was there that Daniel introduced the sport of basketball to Alistair, and Alistair very slowly but surely got to grips with the sport and made great progress in his time at Tommy More.
