I've been a Wikipedian since the project was just a wee little thing, only two months old. I'm now mostly inactive, although I still pop by once and a while to do some light editing. My interests are varied.
My user ID number is 86. This would have been lower, but I was away when we switched over to the "new" software that eventually became MediaWiki. I was once an administrator on the English Wikipedia but resigned ages ago for boring non-dramatic reasons. Basically, I'm a cranky old man in Wikipedia-years. If you have any questions about Wikipedia history, fire away. I'd be happy to subject you to my old man ramblings.
Current Work
[edit]I've come back for bit as of August 2026. I'm working on a few niche interests:
- Frances Benzecry - a female medical detective from the early 19th century. She turned up in research I was doing for a possible writing project. So far I've cleaned up the references and reorganized them in preparation for expansion of the article:
- Add details on notable cases, particularly against Benedict Lust
- Francis Peabody Sharp - a very different Francis. Digging up sources for his horticultural work, especially the apple varieties he developed
