Nedward (Ned) Sterling

Born July 24th 1960 in Portland, Maine ,US and died August 3rd 2004 while en route on 66 (exact location unknown). Prior to being discovered by Woody Allen in New York City, Sterling had spent the previous 25 years living the everyday blues and studying its precepts like a word monk in training. When he was given an opportunity to sign as a junior scriptwriter for UA in 1991, he took his words and morphed them into something that was entirely different and yet so grounded in the legends and mythology of the american literature that it was sometimes taken for a comic strip. His short stories were sinful, electric, and honest."A child constantly playing in backyard with a couple of jap typewriters", that's how he was described by his brother Eric. "Crippled aliens in the attic" , "Boys can cry" , "August" and "Almost alive" are among his short stories to be remembered by friends & devoted fans.
