7x7 magazine covered the show and labeled Katie Lares's collection a Standout collection from the catwalk. In attendance "were fashion gurus (John Capizzi of Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue's Michael Fink) and celebrity designers and honorees Ralph Rucci and James Galanos gathered for a display of some of the city’s most promising emerging talent. [2]
Images from Katie Lares's collection is featured on the WWD “Class Action, West” highlighting Katie Lares's design. [3]
Katie Lares's runway collection was also featured on blogs J'adore Couture [4] and The Fire House Stomp [5]
Career[edit]
In 2008 - 2010, Lares designed for Hollister Co. brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch in the apparel department of wovens in New Albany, Ohio. While at Hollister, she decided to move to Manhattan New York City. She left Hollister in 2010 and left to design clothing for Victoria's Secret
Katie Lares[edit]
Beautiful Savage magazine tapped Katie Lares to collaborate on a custom one of a kind coat for their editorial "GAME OF CLONES" in March 2016. [6]
In September 2015 Katie Lares collaborated with New York City fashion photographer Matt Licari on a concept "Inspired by the unrestrained heritage of the era, along with the artists and creatives that lived in and shaped the city at the time, photographer Matt Licari and designer Katie Lares, both based in New York City, have teamed up to produce a contemporary project that showcases their deep love for New York. The concept for the project stems from a “Made in New York, Making It in New York” phrase that has a double meaning: inspired by Katie Lares’ luxury leather accessories that are made in New York City, but also creative individuals themselves who are being made in, and shaped by, the city itself to some capacity."
