AM BANK S.A.L. is a leading Lebanese commercial bank first established in 1980 as AL-MAWARID Bank S.A.L. by Salim Kheireddine, Maroun Kissirwani, and Omar Jundi.
The bank’s name was abbreviated to AM BANK when their new corporate identity was launched in October 2012, giving it a more adequate title following Al Mawarid’s success and global reach, with its wide scope of correspondent banks in the USA, France, England, Tokyo, Germany, Geneva, Belgium, Italy, Austalia, Canada, and Dubai.

[edit]In 1995, AM Bank was the first bank to introduce credit cards in Lebanon, it accomplished the same with mobile banking in 2011.
AM Bank is the first and only bank to introduce banking delivery services to the industry since 2008. AM Bank is also a local pioneer in introducing unique services such as the payment break.
AM Bank is among the first to commit to Gender Diversity as a board directive since 2018.
AM Bank is the first bank to invest in a Lebanese start up under BDL intermediate circular 331 & one of the first to sign and commit to the corporate governance.
During 2017, AM Bank earned several achievements leaving a large footprint in the banking and finance sector by winning the “Innovation & Excellence” award from the Union of Arab Banks in recognition of the Bank’s commitment to the core values of corporate governance and global practices in professional ethics.
In 2017, Visa International acknowledged the major role that Al Mawarid Bank played in the remarkable growth in credit-card payments and their promotion and has offered the Bank an award for its “High Achievement in Visa Infinite Credit”. Additionally, the Union of Arab Banks selected Al Mawarid Bank to win the “Best Credit Card Services Award” in recognition of its excellence in providing card services under international and regional standards in the same year.
