Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a private semi-residential university. It is the largest private university in India in terms of number of students on a single campus. Lovely Professional University is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. It is situated on 600+ acres of area on the National Highway towards Jalandhar city. The university has more than 25,000 students from 26 states and 16 countries. It is a residential university with separate hostels for boys and girls.
There are over 150 doctorate, post graduate, graduate and diploma programmes in a variety of disciplines that are offered at LPU. The university has tie-ups with various international institutions to offer extensive international exposure.

Distance Education

The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (DODL) accommodate the needs of students who cannot pursue formal education in colleges and universities. Lovely Professional University offers education through its distance education programme by the LPU Directorate of Distance Education. The programmes are DEC recognized.
