Inca Digital Printers Ltd is a manufacturer of industrial digital inkjet printers in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

History

[edit]

Inca Digital was formed in 2000 as a spin-out company from Cambridge Consultants Ltd (CCL). In January 2001, the Eagle 44 was launched. This was the first wide-format, flatbed inkjet printer to be produced by the company and was developed for industrial and point of purchase (POP) applications. This was followed by the Columbia Turbo in 2004 and the Onset in 2007. The Onset X and X HS series have options for automation with single or dual robot arms with end effectors.[1][2] The SpeedSet 1060 is a high-speed, single-pass inkjet printer that is due to be launched in 2023 for the packaging market.[3][4]

In 2005, Inca Digital won two Queen's Awards for Enterprise for innovation and international trade, and won a further award for international trade in 2013.[5] The company was acquired by SCREEN Holdings in 2005.[6] In June 2022, the company was acquired by Agfa-Gevaert to become part of Agfa’s Digital Print & Chemicals division.[7][8]
