Table of contents

Any article with more than three headings automatically gets a table of contents (TOC). The TOC is placed above the first section heading. All text above the first section heading is commonly referred to as the lead section. Depending on the overall length of the article, this introduction should not exceed one to four paragraphs in length and should summarize the article's key points.

If you do not like the TOC placement in an article, you can move it by inserting __TOC__ where you would like it placed. If you do not want a TOC on a particular page, add the text __NOTOC__ anywhere on the page; if you, personally, do not like the TOC feature, you can disable it in your user preferences.

Who is Trevj?

User:Trevj/Brief autobiography Brief info
Trevj
Residence England
Other names -- Trevj (talk)
Years active 2009 – present
Style Pedantic

Trevj is a member of the community of Wikipedia and has no formal involvement with the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF). He doesn't normally refer to himself in the third person.

Wikipedia

He joined the English Wikipedia in September 2004 and made his first main namespace contribution in July 2006. He was mostly inactive here until 2009, with no edits whatsoever during 2007 or '08. In 2010 he took up editing here as a hobby, with activity increasing into 2011.

Although comfortably not meeting the criteria for inclusion in the list of Wikipedians by number of edits, he still considered himself at that time to border on becoming a Wikipediholic. He's since tried to calm down.

Some of his interests are reflected in his edits.[self-published source?]

Other projects

Trevj occasionally contributes to other WMF projects, initiatives and chapters. He's a member of a few WikiProjects.

User incompetence errors

If you think he's flouted any of the five pillars or otherwise done something to piss you off, please let him know.

This results in discussions about article content being hosted prominently for easy reference by others.

  • 23 Feb 2017 – Skytap (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by SwisterTwister (t · c): There's enough to show considerable concerns, not only in its current information or sources but then also the history of its consistency, because it's also still a concern in our non-negotiable policies which state the current sources as sho ...
  • 23 Feb 2017 – Catzilla (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Piotrus (t · c): The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (software) requirement. • 23 Feb 2017 – Asio EduERP (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Premeditated Chaos (t · c): dubious notability. google hits are all its own website
  • 21 Feb 2017 – Software Preservation Society (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Dgpop (t · c): There's no evidence of this group meeting WP:GNG. Flagged for notability and primary references for 5+ years.
  • 21 Feb 2017 – Formatted Disk Image (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Dgpop (t · c): Google turns up little on this and the only reference is primary (and with minimal information).
  • 21 Feb 2017 – TommyGun (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Dgpop (t · c): Software project that does not meet WP:GNG. Orphan since 2009. No references. Minimal information, with an unclear explanation of what the software is.
  • 20 Feb 2017 – South Front (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Volunteer Marek (t · c): There appear to be no independent secondary sources. Entire article sourced to the entity. RfD criteria 4, 7 apply
  • 20 Feb 2017 – Bhole (talk · edit · hist) was PRODed by Dgpop (t · c): Minor and now defunct project that only fully emulates six games. No references. Lede makes confusing and unsubstantiated statements about significance ("emulates the executables directly," which is how all emulators work).
