Dale Starkey was a singer/musician, radio and television actor who started on radio in 1930 at WDAF in Kansas City, Missouri on "The Kansas City Kiddie's Revuew." He was schooled in Kansas City and Minneapolis, Minnisota. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces for four years during World War II, participating in the Normandy Invasion at Omaha, Southern France and Okinawa. After being hit by a Kamakazi Suicide plane at Okinawa, he came back to the United States and was based for a short time at Great Lakes Training Station in Chicago, Illinois.

Upon discharge in 1945, he went to work for the Columbia Broadcasting System (KNX)in Hollywood, california in the script department. He was also included in the CBS Writer's Pool where he worked on many of the top shows of the day. He soon began acting in radio dramatic shows and recording "Demo" records for song-writers and commercials.

He later worked at KJR and KING-TV in Seattle, Washington and finally retired from the Disney Corporation's KABL station in San Francisco. Now, at 85 years old, he is a widower and living in Carmel, California where he still writes, sings, paints and participates in the yearly Monterey Jazz Festival.
