The Organization

[edit]

The aim of the Chinese Community Gateway is to bring together the members of the Chinese Community from all over the world.

Aims

[edit]

To achieve our aim, we plan to do this via 3 pillars:

Community: To run fun and social events to bring together the Chinese Community.

Fundraising: To raise money to support worthwhile causes that benefit the Chinese Community. Active charitable programs run by the organization will be listed on the website.

Cultural Identity: to help form what it means to be Chinese in the 21st Century, and to share this with the Community in general. We will do this by running cultural events such as art and film events featuring Chinese artists as well as special events such as for Mid Autumn Festival

Reason

[edit]

Why build an organization to bring members of the Chinese Community together?

  1. To share Chinese Culture amongst individuals whom are ethnically Chinese and everyone else. To break down stereotypes and walls of misunderstanding.
  2. To help members of the community on their journey to realize what it means to be Chinese where ever in the world they may be.
  3. To build bridges between China and the rest of the world.

History

[edit]

The society was set up officially in 2013 by the founding members. However this has been an idea of the founders since 2009 when they organized and ran events for other Chinese Culture groups.
