Disclaimer[edit]
I've been an early adopter and editor of Wikipedia (english and french) since the very beginning (2001) and I keep being amazed by its development, it's certainly the greatest achievement of human collective intelligence.
But I'm aware to be a very bad and lazy contributor, unable to stick to the Great and Holy Wikipedia Rules. I keep trying to introduce non notable and fancy subjects and personal research, have stubborn and terrible points of views, lose time in unproductive discussions, and don't understand anything about consensus. I know those are unforgivable sins, but don't expect me to improve with time.
I've always been convinced that the most important feature of WP is that every article URI provides a permanent identifier for a subject (topic) and a locator for the conversation about it. This is certainly much more important than the content itself, subject to perpetual change. There is often more to learn from history and discussion pages than from the articles themselves. True Wikipedia believers are convinced they are building an encyclopedia. But they are not. They are maintaining the greatest available set of reference identifiers for the Semantic Web.
