About me[edit]

I’m a 20-year-old college sophomore studying the most time-consuming major ever – violin performance. Surprise! I’m sure you never guessed…

Anyhow, for roughly nine months of the year, I reside in Columbus, Georgia, attending Columbus State University (although usually we music students shun the associations with the actual university). Otherwise, I live, have lived, was born, and grew up in Minnesota. Plymouth, Minnesota, to be exact. In case you were wondering, I do have the accent: people never fail to laugh whenever I say things such as “I’ll take a paper bag.” As a further example of the extent of my Minnewegian “ruts,” I enjoy lefse and believe uff da is possibly the best expression ever.

Also notable: I love to read. Favorite genres include 19th century fiction, Fantasy and Sci-Fi, and Christian theology. I should mention that although the last portion of the previous paragraph may have had you thinking otherwise, I am not a ”Lu-tern”; I’m actually a devotee of Roman Catholicism.

Still more about me[edit]

So I like music. Yes, that’s a gross understatement. I tend to be picky about which types, however: classical tops my list, followed by French pop, Jazz, and then more mainstream stuff. Rap and country should be banned from existence.

Often, I get...obsessed...with certain pieces of music, listening to them over and over again, sometimes in my head, too.

Preferred classical composers include but are not limited to: Mahler, Rachmaninoff, Sibelius, Bach, Beethoven, Ravel, and Shostakovich. I tend to have affinities for second symphonies, particularly those of the first three composers I just listed.

I should mention that in addition to the violin, I play the viola, enjoy singing (I’m an alto), and have some piano skills. My relationship with practicing does and will continue to waffle between love and hate.

In case you weren't already jealous of my awesomeness, I will also mention in this musically inclined section that I have perfect pitch. Boo-yah.

You’re still reading this?[edit]

Most of my substantial Wikipedia contributions come on articles directly related to music. I mean, it is my forte (admit it music nerds, you groaned). However, I have contributed a number of times to the Wayzata High School article, as I attended and graduated from the school. Lastly, being that I am a native Minnesotan, I also have made several contributions to articles relating to the state. The majority of my other, more seemingly random, edits involve one of two situations. A) I read an article, only to realize that I have something to add! Woohoo! So I add it. B) I read an article, only to be disgusted by a lack of proper writing convention. So I makes the grammar gooder, corruct thuh spelng, oh hai i’m in ur wikipedias, fixin ur netspeak lol k bai, and remove the vandalTHIS USER SUCKS!!!!!!1111[citation needed]ism.

Cheekiness aside, I just make additions (and sometimes subtractions) where I can. I can’t say I’m a terribly active member of Wikipedia; it comes and goes in spurts. Kind of like this userpage.
