Few years later it was shifted to Ram Krishna Sarani to accommodate a wider participation. Since last year it moved to Islamia Ground to honour the ever growing participation from the surrounding locality. This year we are celebrating 54th year of this event.

Vision:

We arrange various cultural program, which includes ‘sit and draw’ competition for children, singing and specially ‘Dhunuchi-nach.’

Every year some distinguished guests inaugurate our puja. With the enjoyment and happiness we don’t forget our elderly ex-committee member’s to give them the due honor on this auspicious occasion.

We try to cut through the darkness of the society to spread some joy and happiness among those deprived children by distributing them the new clothes and basic provision for education.

DURGA PUJA SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS

In West Bengal, Durga puja is treated with the sense of joy and anticipation not only as the biggest Hindu festival but also as the most significant socio-cultural event in Bengal society. During the festive celebrations, we welcome all our guests, like our very own family. Everybody enjoys the four days of the puja to his or her heart’s content. These four days we forget everything else except the puja. We arrange for the rituals of the puja. For these four days we gather and have our meals together to share our happiness. On the last day of the puja, before the idol is immersed in the holy water, a very famous tradition- ‘sindur khela’ is done bidding the celebration goodbye. During the Durga puja, we all forget our language and regional barriers, standing united in one single cultural platform.

Every year some distinguished guests inaugurate our puja. With the enjoyment and happiness we cut through the darkness of the society by helping the under privileged section of the society. Distributing new clothes among the deprived children, giving them the basic provisions for education through this way we bring some smile & joy in their faces . We also arrange for a cultural program, which includes a sit, and draw competition for children, singing and ‘dhunuchi-nach’. Like this, we spread happiness and create an exaggerating festival!
