Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.
To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.
DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...
- ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
- If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
- If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
- ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.
You may request a protection reduction below if...
- ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
- ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
- ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
- ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.
If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.
Reason: A reason is not given for indefinite page protection and the edit history shows that it existed for 2 years without any edits, unless there is a level of edit summary removal that I am not aware of. UltrasonicMadness (talk) 18:34, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- It might have to do with an LTA who's likely never going to be bothering us again. 2009 was a page-move-vandalism phase for the LTA, and both NawlinWiki and I were the main ones fighting against him. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 22:26, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- It looks like an LTA meddled with the redirect in 2007, it was deleted and In 2009, NawlinWiki cleaned it up, removing edits made by a banned user. — Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:15, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support: article hasn't been edited for 17 years. Schestos (talk) 11:00, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Drop down to extended-confirmed, the vandalism isn't coming from established accounts. Schestos (talk) 10:59, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Declined Edits before and after the article was AfDed were by extended-confirmed users, including recreation of said article. Lectonar (talk) 13:00, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here
Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.
- You may add the appropriate template (
{{Edit protected}},{{Edit template-protected}},{{Edit extended-protected}}, or{{Edit semi-protected}}) to the article's talk page if you would like to request an edit be made. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - For edit requests being made due to the editor having a conflict of interest with the article subject (see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}template should be used instead of the others listed above. - Requests to move pages that are currently move-protected should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not on this page.
- This page is not for holding discussions regarding content. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit that you wish to be performed.
Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Autopatrolled[edit]
@Cypp0847 has authored 198 articles, of which only 2 have been deleted. One of these was for WP:SYNTH, the AfD having taken place during October 2022. They primarily translate articles from the Chinese Wikipedia, recent examples contain no issues that require action by an NPR. I reviewed Ma Tau Wai Road building collapse and found no issues, other than adding the translation banner to the talk page. Chinese sources vary in reliability, but based on the articles I have reviewed from @Cypp0847, the sourcing appears consistent and without issue. BLPs such as John Clancey are well sourced and do not leave any information uncited. A recent AfD of their article John MacLennan resulted in a unanimous keep. Their talk page is mostly filled with automated messages regarding images, with little after April 2025. Based on what I've seen from @Cypp0847, I am quite confident the 2022 AfD SYNTH concerns were an anomaly, and doesn't appear to have been an ongoing issue, with no reoccurrences since. Thank you for your contributions and translations, @Cypp0847! 11WB (talk) 10:38, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
I came across Javajourney while reviewing new pages and was impressed with their clean pages on music subjects. They have created 106 undeleted mainspace pages since late 2024. (There are three deleted articles, all from early on in their Wikipedia career, plus a recently deleted inadvertently created redirect. A number of articles created in 2024 were redirected or merged at AfD, and Javajourney appears to have taken Bastun's advice to bone up on notability to heart.) I reviewed the last 10 created pages in depth. Notability is always clearly demonstrated, whether through chart performance, reviews or some other WP:NMUSIC criterion. (NMUSIC is one of the harder SNGs to master and Javajourney appears to understand how to strongly demonstrate notability for the benefit of a reviewer.) Pages are all highly presentable, NPOV is maintained, and talk pages are created. Sourcing is strong and primary sources are used appropriately (e.g. for chart performance). At the pace Javajourney is creating new articles, granting them autopatrolled will reduce the queue for reviewers without compromising on the quality of the encyclopedia. Dclemens1971 (talk) 03:36, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Reason for requesting autopatrolled rights I think i potentially need Autopatrolled rights to do contributions on Astronomy and Spaceflight parts of Wikipedia Abdullah1099 (talk) 14:14, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Reason for requesting autopatrolled rights I've been editing Wikipedia regularly for about a year now. Initially, the quality of editing was poor, but I have always tried to contribute to Wikipedia through constructive editing. In addition to this, there have been about 30,000+ edits. Most of his edits and articles are constructive, so his articles do not require initial verification. I am aware of the right to autopatrolled verification and think that having this right would reduce the workload on article examiners. Mathew D'Marco (talk) 06:36, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Reason for rquesting autopatroller rights: Okay so um, I know this could be aukward, but I have been maturing myself, and trying as hard as I can, I know if it can be rejected, but I have been working hard, and I would like to know if I can have Autopatroller rights on Wikipedia, if not, that's okay, if yes, then, that's great.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mastercane F X (talk • contribs) 18:25, 10 February 2026 (UTC) |

AutoWikiBrowser[edit]
I am requesting AWB/JWB access to assist with the maintenance and standardization of articles related to Moroccan institutions, governance, and infrastructure. Over the past few days, I have created several high-quality articles (e.g., ONSSA, ADD, and several Moroccan Ministries). I have noticed many related pages require repetitive cleanup tasks, such as fixing internal links, standardizing infoboxes, and adding relevant portals like {{Portal}}. While I am currently approaching 150 manual edits, my contributions consist of significant article creations and major expansions. Access to JWB would allow me to handle these routine tasks more efficiently. I am familiar with AWB policies and will use the tool responsibly. Mohamed Filali (talk) 10:21, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

Mass message sender[edit]
I am a member of WP:WikiProject Women in Red and have been involved in organising our regular monthly events for some time. Each month a message goes out to members on the distribution list (see e.g. the February message). We have a couple of people who send these mass messages at the moment and a call has been put out for more volunteers. I would like to help out. I've read the guidance for use, and Lajmmoore has kindly offered to provide support, including coaching me through my first message. Many thanks, Chocmilk03 (talk) 21:03, 4 February 2026 (UTC) |

New page reviewer[edit]
Hello, I am requesting New Page Reviewer rights again. This is my second request, and I would like to return to reviewing articles that need work. I have experience working at AfD last year and currently making articles. I have created and expanded several articles and through this work, have become familiar with notability requirements (especially the importance of notable sources) and BLP policy. I would like to help out further by reviewing new pages. AdobongPogi masarap 🍛 04:19, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
I'd like to help address the NPP backlog. I've been a pending changes reviewer for some time, but the backlog there is typically very low. Coining (talk) 22:28, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi there, I would like to renew my New Page Reviewer Rights which I was granted on 20th November 2025 that expired on 31st Jan 2026. I was invited to participate in the January–February 2026 NPP drive - [Phase 1 & 2] but partly participated in Phase 1 and I would like to participate in Phase 2 for the remaining days so I kindly request for renewal. MichealKal (talk) 10:39, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights I had not realised there was such a big backlog at NPP and would like to help reduce it; I am an experienced editor and article creator myself, and would be very happy to do more to help new editors learn about Wikipedia. I am interested in helping to eliminate the backlog, particularly for articles involving Indian articles sources—languages I am familiar with—that often remain stuck for long periods due to language barriers. (Littlestepsforward (talk) 05:32, 10 February 2026 (UTC)) Littlestepsforward (talk) 05:32, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
I am requesting NPR rights to assist with the sustained and significant backlog. I am comfortable making independent, policy-based judgments on notability, sourcing, BLP compliance, and promotional content, and I understand the importance of balancing improvement with deletion when warranted. My approach to page review emphasizes accuracy, restraint, and clear communication with page creators, particularly newer editors. If granted, I intend to review pages consistently and focus on reducing backlog pressure by addressing both articles and redirects that have remained unreviewed for extended periods. I am familiar with the expectations and responsibilities of the role and am prepared to contribute on an ongoing volunteer basis. Thank you for your consideration. I saw the huge backlog you're currently having the other day and I was shocked. I have experience with deletion and creation of pages, as I have written a few pages, am currently an AFC reviewer and I have a secondary account to deal with deletion that is currently inactive called Delete the Earth that I plan on reactivating. I used that account to perform various merges of pages and CSDing some drafts. I just hope I can help! Earth605talk 10:41, 11 February 2026 (UTC) |

Page mover[edit]
Renewing my rights, I need page moving for AFC work Olliefant (she/her) 19:43, 4 February 2026 (UTC) Olliefant (she/her) 19:43, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
My page mover rights expire on the 27th and I would like to renew them. I have very much enjoyed working at WP:RM and have also found having page mover useful when mentoring and dealing with page move vandals, both of which I do. Cheers! – LuniZunie(talk) 19:15, 10 February 2026 (UTC) |

Pending changes reviewer[edit]
Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights I have ~10,000 edits now in ten months on the website (with a 200+ day edit streak), and have been using AntiVandal (and occasionally WikiShield) for a month now (had some dumb accidental reverts in the first few days cause of the controls being a little hard at first), and have gotten used to the controls. I have also sometimes looked at the pending changes backlog and looked over the edits pending review if any to evaluate if I would accept or decline if I had PCR rights. I remain a Recent Changes patroller as well and make sure there is no hours-old vandalism untouched. For these reasons, that is why I am requesting PCR rights for my account, thank you. Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights I’d like to request pending changes reviewer rights. I’ve been active for months now and have made 500+ edits, mostly focused on improving article tone, adding reliable sources, fixing formatting issues, and cleaning up drafts. I’ve created and improved a number of articles, particularly in biographical and cultural topics. I’m familiar with key policies like WP:NPOV, WP:V, and WP:COPYVIO, and I aim to contribute more to content maintenance through reviewing edits on protected pages. I’m careful with sourcing and would use reviewer tools with that same level of care. Requesting access to assist with the backlog in helping to ensure pending edits meet the criteria of the Wikipedia policies & guidelines. Active in anti-vandalism and content creation, with a reasonable enough track record to establish knowledge of the required policies. I have read the reviewing guideline and criteria. Thanks, UpTheOctave! • 8va? 19:59, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
Same reason. Mostly because Luni hates WikiShield now for some reason.[FBDB] anti-pro-air (talk) 02:10, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
I have been actively editing Wikipedia for several weeks and have accumulated over a thousand contributions. Since January 25th, I have been using Ultraviolet to revert vandalism and warn users who engage in disruptive edits. I am confident in my ability to identify contributions that are vandalism separately from contributions that are not vandalism but good-faith. If granted the Pending Changes Reviewer right, I will continue patrolling recent changes and carefully review pending edits to ensure they are appropriate and meet Wikipedia’s standards. Rollback[edit]
I've been doing RCP for over a month, using UV (and sometimes Twinkle) to revert edits and give users an appropriate warning. I'm requesting the rollback permission to be able to use Huggle to do RCP even more efficiently, and also to have quicker rollbacks in UV. 🍅 fx (talk) 02:07, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
I'm requesting rollback rights so I can use tools such as Huggle or AntiVandal to make it easier to patrol Recent changes. I have been patrolling on Recent changes for over a month and have been using mainly Twinkle to revert vandalism and warn users, as well as reporting persistent ones to AIV. Mesocyclonic93(t)(c) 17:19, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
I've been patrolling recent changes since December, doing quick vandalism reversions and notices/warnings. I've been active on Wikipedia for over five years and have more than 4800 mainspace edits. I've started using Twinkle to give notices and warnings, but I'd like rollback to be able to get Huggle access for more efficient counter-vandalism work. Temporary account IP viewer[edit]
Hiya, I am requesting this special permission to support my ongoing work in sockpuppet investigations. I agree to comply to the Foundation's guidelines when using this tool and I have read, understood, and agree to comply with the conditions. You can see some of my work here Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Blunderpass & Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Blunderpass/Archive for a persistent sock. I understand this area is chock-full of backlog and find I like sock hunting and would like to help further. Halbared (talk) 17:05, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I sometimes revert vandalism added to articles in my watchlist. I agree to comply to the Foundation's guidelines when using this tool. I appreciate your consideration. The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 19:52, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Hello! I'm often involved in anti-vandalism and new pages patrol and would find use in being able to use this tool to see vandalism patterns across temporary accounts. I agree to abide by the WMF's guidelines for this tool. Thanks! Lordseriouspig 08:17, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
Sapphaline (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · undos · manual reverts · rollbacks · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci) There's one person waging a long-term harassment campaign against me (look at e.g. special:history/User_talk:Sapphaline); I've already seen their nonsense from at least 3 different IP ranges. I need this right so that I can more effectively report their abuse to WP:AIV and maybe notify ruwiki[1] checkusers about possible block evasions from them.[2] I agree to comply to the Foundation's guidelines when using this tool and read, understood, and agree to comply with the conditions. sapphaline (talk) 12:12, 9 February 2026 (UTC) References
I've been patrolling the recent changes log as well as keeping an eye on a number of articles to prevent vandalism and address disruptive editing, as well as to welcome and encourage new users that are still learning the policies and guidelines. The situation has come up multiple times now where users have abused multiple temporary accounts to vandalize, disruptively edit, or engage in edit warring without discussing with other editors attempting to reach consensus. Without actually being able to confirm if the temp account is indeed the same individual—e.g., two temp accounts making identical edits within a short period of time—it is less efficient to communicate with the temp accounts (since it is necessary to assume good faith of each new accounts and post repeated messages across different talk pages) and less efficient to get assistance from a mod since the first step needs to be actually confirming the temp accounts' identity as a sock puppet before proceeding to report their behavior. This would save time for admins, who already have backlogs of sock puppets to investigate, as well as myself in addressing the situations. I understand the responsibility that comes with having an additional privilege like this and would use it sparingly and only for reasons consistent with Wikipedia guidelines and policies. I have reviewed Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer and believe that I meet all the criteria to be granted this permission. Thank you for your time. MossOnALogTalk 16:15, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
