Munchified

The word Munchified is not pronounced like the word munch as in to eat. Instead, it is pronounced like the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch's last name. When people are Munchified, they are responding to external stimuli (but sometimes internal) which impels them to want to place their head in their hands and scream. Holding the head in the hands both keeps the head on the shoulders and prevents it from exploding into pieces. A visual representation of one being Munchified can be seen in Edvard Munch's painting The Scream.

Although there are many things that cause one to be Munchified, a common cause is being around one's judgmental family during the holidays. When a Christian family used to never say Grace before meals when you were growing up and presently only decides to when ever you and your Buddhist, Hindu, Shinto, Animist, Jewish, Atheist, Wiccan, or Muslim spouse is present, you become Munchified. When your daughter spent over 7 weeks in the hospital because of an eating disorder and nobody visited her because they were "uncomfortable" with the illness, as a parent you may become Munchified. When you find out they just drove 6 hours round trip (3 hours each way) to have Easter lunch with another, healthy, family member too busy to stop doing schoolwork (after you just drove 2,000 miles for the visit yourself), you may become Munchified. When you have to wait until 8:00pm to have Easter dinner because people are late and no sooner than you finish eating you are doing the dishes by 8:45pm you may become Munchified.
