Poverty Resolutions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which aims to eradicate dollar a day poverty in Haiti through educational efforts and MicroLoan Programs to help small businesses. It was founded in early 2010 in the aftermath of the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake.
According to its website, Poverty Resolutons aims to educate Americans regarding poverty and the needs of the poor, while delivering sustainable solutions to Haitians with education and micro-loan programs. Poverty Resolutions currently has offices in State College, Pennsylvania and Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Founded in early 2010, Poverty Resolutions initially sponsored a fact-finding trip to Haiti in May and June of 2010. In the fall of 2010, a website was developed and post-production began on a short documentary film designed to raise awareness of the situation while raising money for programs designed to help Haitians. The documentary will be released in September of 2011.
In the United States, Poverty Resolutions targets students and young adults to help youth gain an understanding of how they can be effective ambassadors for the people of Haiti. In Haiti, Poverty Resolutions’ leadership team advances developmental strategies that use education and microfinance programs to enhance long-term growth within the country.
