Sorry I'm unavailable to oblige...[edit]

... but as you might not have noticed the tag on my User page, I'm presently and until further notice a war refugee from the Lebanese border. Aside from my livelihood being harmed and my personal and family life in upheaval, I have only sporadic and brief Internet access. My Wikipedia editing is one of the aspects of regular life that's had to be suspended indefinitely, and I anticipate it'll take me months to recover.

A request such as yours is, unfortunately, entirely beyond my capabilities, and I suggest you seek elsewhere. Good luck with your editing. --Deborahjay 08:30, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh!Thanks anyway and good luck and all the best to you!-Lemmy- 11:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Linking to Defender[edit]

When you want to link to the article about the football position defender, please do not link to Defender, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the Defender (football) article, by writing out [[Defender (football)|defender]]. Regards, -- Jeff3000 20:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I had that in mind as I wrote but then I forgot ;-) Thanks for the advice -Lemmy- 15:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Jørn Andersen[edit]

Hi Lemmy, I noticed that you edited a page on Jørn Andersen I created. Thanks for your help! I'm currently trying to go through a number of the most-wanted football biography articles, and a number of them are (slightly obscure, to me) European footballers for whom I'm finding it difficult to find reliable sources to provide as External links. Can you find any sources for this article?

Incidentally, should you be interested in adding some "MWA's", you can use this link to see which articles people would like to see in WP. All the best! The Rambling Man 18:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi,Rambling man!Usually I edit and sometimes create articles of players of Eintracht Frankfurt, the predecessor of Ipswich's cup win ;-).Unfortunately I'm alone in there. My main source is the German wikipedia. The most articles are just simple translations by myself sometimes endorsed with a info box.(I must add that I haven't finished the whole translation of the article) As a source you could take http://www.fussballdaten.de/spieler/andersenjoern/ .Please note that Jørn is often written as Jörn on German pages.Regards -Lemmy- 18:26, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Reclaim the Kop[edit]

Once is enough??? Not at all, Anfield Anfield Anfield is so important that we should and must go around and make sure that it is always repeated at length until all eventually yield before its greatness and give in!! (Good spot and edit by the way...) Robotforaday 15:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if you don't understand what I wanted to say or if I'm on the wrong track. All I wanted to express with the comment is that "at Anfield, at Anfield" is a false syntax and once "at Anfield" is enough.YNWA -Lemmy- 15:18, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
I know, I was just being silly about my beloved Anfield, hence the "good spot" comment at the end ;) Robotforaday 15:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hubchev.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hubchev.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

No disappointment. I should have guessed you would be familiar with the site! I was well impressed with the wappen page. When I have time I will render cleaner versions of some of these logos. Welcome message[edit]

Hi Lemmy, I put the welcome message on your user talk. I would like to thank you again for your contributions on it.wiki. Although I've never been to Germany, I love your country and your language, which I would like to learn soon. If you want you can read here. On it.wiki I've created many German teams (see here). Hope we become friends. Guten Abend :-) --Freddyballo 21:39, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi,Freddy! I directly answered it there. Nice to hear you're interested in German culture. I guess it's much easier for me to read and understand some Italian than for you as German is hard to understand and learn, admittedly. I hope, I didn't discourage you to learn it anyway :-P
Aren't all Wikipedians friends in spirit all least? Buona sera! :-)

Hello Larry, I have just seen your answer :D As for the question you raised on my talk page on it.wiki, I managed to find the mistake in the template it:Template:Rosa/societàcalciogermania. This sentence:
{{qif|test={{{stemma|}}}|then=[[Immagine:600px_{{{stemma}}}.png|25px|]]}}
was missing. Many thanks for your congratulations on creating Eintracht flag. Good luck for next season in the Bundesliga. See you soon. --Freddyballo 21:46, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi there! Just dropping by to say; good work contributing! Just one note, however; please try to be civil and keep a cool head when dealing with editors, even if they're vandals. This message, such as calling the editor a little child, is not very nice, and hardly called for. It's ok to feel stress, but try not to let it impact your editing, or take a break; whichever works for you. Anyway, cheers! Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:25, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Amantidis stats[edit]

I have a record from a Greek webside saying about 34 goals in 101 app. Also in one of the links it says that he scored 24 in 74 games before this season. And the info in team's page about his current record is 10 in 27. Do you know sth else or did you changed it at will? --Ioannes Tzimiskes (talk) 18:12, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Nope,I never change at will ;-) My sources are this and that. These ones are quite well updated and pretty reliable. No disrespect but I have more trust in these pages which mainly treat the Bundesliga than in a Greek page who probably mixed something up (they added the first Amanatidis stint to the current). Nevermind. Yamas! -Lemmy- (talk) 19:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've had a brief look, and the article says "there used to be some players from Afghanistan [but not any more]." I hope that answers your question. :)

Like you said, the names of some players aren't in Hangul. I suspect this is because nobody knows the correct pronunciations. If you know someone who knows the names, or somewhere where you can hear the names on the Internet, that would be very helpful. :) --Kjoonlee 23:16, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Eintracht Frankfurt season template...[edit]

Eckehard Feigenspan[edit]

Hello Lemmy, I have just done a bit of work on the German football championship 1959 article and found, to my very surprise, that you forgot to create an article on an Eintracht player: Eckehard Feigenspan. Every other of the eleven in the final has an article, most properly created all by you, while the player who scored three goals for Eintracht in the match has not. He is even on Eintracht's famous players list! Well, anyway, just letting you know, you missed one. Have fun, EA210269 (talk) 08:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Aye, I wanted to create that article for a long time but somehow...,thanks for the reminder! ;-) -Lemmy- (talk) 21:37, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Invite to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Season article task force[edit]

Soccerball current event.svg

As a current or past contributor to season articles within Wikipedia:WikiProject Football, I thought I'd let you know about the season article task force, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of season articles of all kind. If you would like to participate, join by visiting the task force page. Thanks!

The reason for this invitation is the attempt to establish a season guideline for club season articles. If you look at 2009–10 FC Bayern Munich season, Eintracht Frankfurt season 2009–10 and Hertha BSC season 2009–10, you will see that each of those articles has a different layout and different contents. In general, you could say that for each of these articles, which significantly obstructs the readability when jumping between season articles. In order to achieve a common standard, a discussion has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Season article task force#Club season articles. Please voice your opinion! --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 00:32, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Template:Calcio Eintracht on it.wiki[edit]

Hi Lemmy! There's nothing personal against that eagle, I simply reverted that template because of a decision taken by some users (and I am one of them) who are trying to "simplify" the little flags to improve their graphic appearence. So, it's not a matter of copyrights, we just think that eagle appears not so clear at a 20px widht. We have lately modified a number of template for the same reason, or because the "flags" were judget not appropriate for the shades of the colours, for the complicated drawings there were on them, or simply for the history and the traditions of the club. I hope my english is good enough to make you understand what I mean. Bye! :) Murray. --93.38.209.45 (talk) 20:25, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

I understand why but don't see why a good design is reverted just for simplification reasons but I guess I have to respect it when the Italian community decided to do so. Anyway, thanks for your explanation -Lemmy- (talk) 20:42, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Sonny Kittel[edit]

Matpib (talk) 14:31, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Kevin Kraus[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Kevin Kraus has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Liverpool F.C. wiki[edit]

Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki Coffeeclub213 (talk) 01:49, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Yan Heil[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Yan Heil has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG, and who has not played in a fully pro league, meaning he also fails WP:NSPORT.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Frankfurt derby[edit]

Derby time today, for the first time in almost 50 years, at least on league level. I'm surprised you haven't created an article on the Frankfurt derby yet! Calistemon (talk) 11:03, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

You said it: almost 50 years. There's no tension, no rivalry at all. It's a very strange derby because the differences on the pitch, in supporters' and financial figures are higher even than Frankfurt's towers. To make a long story short: it's not really notable. But if I should have too much time.. ;-) By the way: last Monday at our last home match I met a guy who wore a Glory shirt. Small world,eh ? :-) -Lemmy- (talk) 18:41, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
It might become notable again, depending which direction Eintracht and FSV go. Kicker thought it big enough to give it a mention and 50,000 spectators are not bad either for a second division match. That's above Eintracht's last year average (47,365), and that was one level higher. I have to say, I never go to see the Glory, I tend to support teams from Adelaide instead.
