10th Avenue (IRT Flushing Line) picture[edit]

At Seventh Avenue, the Times Square (IRT Flushing Line) station already exists. The picture cannot possibly depict the line near Seventh Avenue, as the current operational west end of the line is at Eighth Avenue, right up against where the former IND Eighth Avenue Line platform was. Huh? The 7 Subway Extension was constructed with 2 tunnel boring machines with each track in its own tunnel. The picture you keep erroneously adding to 10th Ave has a single arch over both tracks. The only place on the extension where that type of construction exists is near 7th Ave. The picture has nothing to do with 10th Ave so stop adding it. 166.137.244.121 (talk) 12:46, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
That doesn't explain how several pictures wound up in the 7 Subway Extension Facebook page for June 14, 2011, or how the source on Flickr describe the picture as "underneath the Port Authority Bus Terminal, ... near the current terminus of the 7 train at Times Square." So neither of us are right. Besides, the line at Seventh Avenue already exists and has been in service for 85 years. Epicgenius (talk) 12:53, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
Exactly my point. "Underneath the Port Authority Bus Terminal" & "near the current 7 train TS station" are both near 7th Ave. The extension has construction work from the new station at 34th St all the way to the west end of the platform at Times Square. Just because the line exists does not mean it is not under construction to make it ready for service. A picture removed from 10th Ave as near 7th Ave does not need to be edit warred. 166.137.244.121 (talk) 13:48, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
By the way, stop removing the MTA tweet reference from the 34th Street article; that is the latest update from the MTA. What do you mean by "pure speculation that the station will open this year"? The MTA is still targeting 2014, in the fall or winter, as an opening date. There are R62A and R142A datasheets from http://www.nycsubway.org that show the discrepancy in the door areas.
