January 2014[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:30, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Thanks for letting me know. Can you make the move using the software? Thanks. 170.170.59.139 (talk) 16:33, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

All right; it seems sensible enough, since he probably doesn't go by all three names. I've done so. I have, however, restored the redirect from Louis Posner. When an article is created on the other Louis Posner, it will probably become a "disambiguation page", but in the meantime we direct readers to the Louis Posner we have. They should realize pretty swiftly that it's not the same fellow. :) If he's got a library named after him, he should be notable enough for an article. Even without an account, if you feel like it, you could create one at Wikipedia:Article wizard. --Moonriddengirl (talk)16:38, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, that makes sense.170.170.59.139 (talk) 16:41, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (Insert-signature.png or Button sig.png) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:39, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Serio (rapper), because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.
Your edit here to Serio (rapper) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/user/SERIOofficialsite) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. This IP is attached to a workstation at a Fedex office. Why is everyone using this workstation being punished for the stupidity of someone playing games back in March? 170.170.59.139 (talk) 17:13, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Because there has also been disruption in January, and in December, and in November... Basically, whenever someone edited from this IP, chances were the edits were problematic. You can edit from elsewhere or create an account. Huon (talk) 17:57, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
