Vandalism

This is not an autoblock; anonymous editing from this ip is directly blocked to prevent further vandalism. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 17:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

You can erase all you like but your history remains![edit]

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Jimmy Wales are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you.--Morenooso (talk) 19:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand anything[edit]

First Wikipedia pops up with scareware like "YOU HAVE A NEW MESSAGE" to point to some spam. Then, this abusive user just keeps reverting my edits (I made a question if Jimbo Wales is a potato, not referring to potato the food, but referring to potato as an expression meaning a rich bussinesman). Not only my question was not answered, but it was deleted! How some that? I thought Wikipedia was good with Newbies wanting to be good contributors like me, but it seems not. How come that? --190.226.50.130 (talk) 19:39, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Is this a request for unblocking? If so, please use the {{unblock}} template, but don't get your hopes up. Rodhullandemu 19:42, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
For future reference, "one-liners" like your question are not considered a valid edit. In order for a question like yours to deserve merit, consideration or even an answer, the edit needs to have substance or thought like your response above my response. Additionally, anonymous IPs usually don't leave very many valid one-line edits which is why they will be reversed. If you read the Chat 1 Warning left above with the admonition that talkpage histories cannot be erased, you will understand that article talkpages are not the place to ask general questions. Article talkpages are reserved to discuss improvement or seek consensus on how to develop the article. --Morenooso (talk) 19:46, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
BTW, if you really want to edit Wikipedia, create an account.--Morenooso (talk) 19:49, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Admins reviewing unblock - the potato comment was made as a one-liner and this anon IP has history[edit]

Any admin reviewing this unblock can see what I put in one of the warnings. He has a history of vandalism with Jimmy Wales and has been blocked before. This anon IP is not innocent as he claims to be. --Morenooso (talk) 17:01, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

BTW, I put this talkpage on watch to see if it replied. Nada. --Morenooso (talk) 17:02, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Wait, what? --190.226.50.130 (talk) 17:03, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Whoever edits from this IP address seems to have an obsession with potatoes and pirates, so it's unsurprising that I blocked this address. The best way to avoid being confused for a vandalistic user is to have a registered account here. Rodhullandemu 17:06, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Claiming that the message pop-up from Wikipedia is scareware/spam is very weak. Other editors sharing this anon IP must be doing vandalism and innocent users are getting burned. Lesson learned: get a user account and log in. --Morenooso (talk) 17:09, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Whats your problem with me? I'm not a spammer. --190.226.50.130 (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
No problem. But, the observations are:
  • 1 - There is vandalism coming from this account not only to articles but also blanking this talkpage
  • 2 - Denial occurs as if this anon IP is innocent when the vandalism is obvious.
  • 3 - Attitude is present.
  • 4 - No change in attitude or editting is demonstrated.
RECOMMENDATION - Please change your ways (said sincerely) and you will do okay on Wikipedia. --Morenooso (talk) 17:18, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
