January 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm McDoobAU93. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of Virtual Console games for Nintendo 3DS (North America), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The cited source does not give any date for the release. Any suggestion that the release will be in 2014, while most likely correct, is still personal speculation and thus cannot be used as a basis for an edit. -- McDoobAU93 19:29, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

February 2014[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to List of Virtual Console games for Wii U (North America). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You've been warned about this and why this edit is not permitted. I've reviewed the Nintendo Direct video again and again, and Mr. Iwata's exact words, beginning at 31:48 are: "We are happy to announce that we will finally begin releasing them this spring. Starting in April, we will begin releasing such fan favorites as Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 and more." Please illustrate how this sentence states that these are going to be the first titles released. The games mentioned are examples, not necessarily the first to be released. If the games were definitely to be the first released, Mr. Iwata would have said something closer to this: "Starting in April, we will begin releasing many fan favorites, starting with Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3." These two sentences say completely different things; the first is using the games as examples, while the second is specifically calling them the first to launch. In order to change these dates, you must provide conclusive proof that these will indeed be the first games launched and that they will launch in April. Dates do change - witness Super Mario Bros. 3, which has been promised for months and still has no release date. Again, you've been warned sufficiently. Any additional changes without modification of sources or discussion/consensus on the talk page will be treated as edit-warring and handled accordingly. -- McDoobAU93 04:52, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I'm so sick of Wikipedia's stupid policies about what I cannot edit as long as IT'S NOT DAMN VANTALISM! I just want to add the fact that this takes place 4 years after Seed of Chucky and you guys keep being stupid about it and reverting the edits, how annoying! (216.252.30.100 (talk) 03:08, 24 October 2014 (UTC))

How do you know that it's 4 years after Seed of Chucky? AD (talk) 05:39, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Seed of Chucky took place in 2004 (6 years after Bride of Chucky) and the ending says "5 years later", making it 2009 and Curse of Chucky is set in 2013 (25 years after the original Child's Play and 4 years after the "ending" to Seed of Chucky. (216.252.30.100 (talk) 00:57, 27 October 2014 (UTC))

That looks like original research, which can be challenged and removed on wikipedia. There is nothing within the film Curse of Chucky itself which says it's four years after Seed of Chucky. AD (talk) 03:49, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
To clarify, it is stated in the dialogue of Curse of Chucky that it's 25 years after Child's Play, that's why it can be included in the plot summary of the article. There's no such confirmation of 4 years between Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky. You don't need to remove the "25 years", since that's confirmed by the text. Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament edits[edit]

Hi. Thanks for adding the release date for this game on the North American Wii U virtual console. I noticed it took you several edits to fix a major formatting error. Just to let you know, you can hit the "Preview" button when you're editing to see what your edit will look like before you save it. Also, I would recommend that you add a reference, but I'll do it for you right now. Thanks! Takinzinnia (talkcontribs) 18:04, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

3D Classics[edit]

Hey, I noticed you added 3D Classics back to lists of 3DS Virtual Console games. Is there some particular reason you believe they should be listed there? Nintendo uses a strict definition of Virtual Console, which is why things like the digital Wii games for Wii U and 3D Classics are not Virtual Console. --SnorlaxMonster 06:13, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Sorry but they technically are, they may not be advertised as VC games but they belong on there and I'm sick of Wikipedia making stupid changes! (216.252.30.100 (talk) 06:57, 31 March 2015 (UTC))

Well, 3D Classics involve recoding the games themselves, and are more similar to remakes or remasters than Virtual Console. Virtual Console releases run on an emulator, whereas 3D Classics are run like any other 3DS download software. Moreover, Virtual Console is a release method which is defined by how Nintendo promotes it (GBA 3DS VC is handled quite differently on a technical level to the other VC games, and probably wouldn't be considered VC if it weren't defined by how Nintendo advertises them).
Basically, your claim that they are the same as other Virtual Console titles on a technical level is incorrect, and your claim that there is something other than how Nintendo advertises them that makes games Virtual Console is incorrect. --SnorlaxMonster 10:12, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

List of Virtual Console games for Wii U (North America)[edit]

Thank you for using the article talkpage instead of continuing to make the same edit to the article (which would have got you blocked from editing wikipedia!). Make sure you listen to what others say and try to reach a consensus before editing the article again. This may take a bit of time (even a few days) but is the only way to make a lasting difference on wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask them on my talkpage. Your editing patterns[edit]

I honestly don't know how to put this, but I'm going to do it in the most constructive way possible ... your editing is frankly becoming a problem. Deep down, I believe you're trying to help, but assuming good faith can only go so far when editors do not respond to any constructive points brought up about their editing styles. You continually add dates with no sources, games based on sources that have been deemed unreliable, personal interpretations of sources that don't say what you think they do ...

While it is true that some of these things do end up being correct in the end, that doesn't justify how you edit—a broken clock is right twice a day, but the clock is still broken. You must collaborate with other editors, and you must tell others why you're making changes (you NEVER leave an edit summary, which is a MAJOR problem). These things will go a LONG way to helping you understand how Wikipedia operates.

I hope you take this to heart going forward. However, if you do not ... well, you may find yourself blocked from editing for a longer time than just a couple of weeks. Again, I hope it doesn't come to that.

I want Materialscientist to unblock me and stop harassing me. I did nothing wrong and why I am blocked for 4 months is stupid! Please unblock me. Thanks!

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you

  2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
  3. will make useful contributions instead.

Why the hell are you declining my request for, jerk? Materialscientist, you are an asshole and you need to stop harassing me or I'm getting you banned from Wikipedia!
