I have reverted your edit to Gnosticism on the following grounds:
1. There were several references, all of which met our reliable sourcing guidelines. 2. These references were not speculative, but the assessment of respected academics, some (such as Gershom Scholem and Joseph Dan) renowned for their authority on historical beliefs held by mainstream and fringe members of various Jewish communities. 3. By "NPOV" I assume you meant "POV," because Wikipedia strives to keep NPOV in articles, and remove POV.
It is hard to assume both good faith and neutrality in your attempt to remove that section. One or the other, maybe, but not both. Further attempts to remove that information, or to similarly remove other good information on comparably absurd grounds, will be treated as censorship, if not vandalism.
