July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding or significantly changing content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Polygraph, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. NickCT (talk) 20:27, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

I did cite reliable sources. See the footnotes.

Your Edits[edit]

Responding to your inquiry. Your edits do not explicitly cite what is referenced in the external web site which you use. In no where in the Britannica article does it state that John Larson invented the polygraph in 1921. Secondly, Post-it notes, atomic bombs, etc. are nothing but trivial details which have no absolute relation to the topic of the article-- the polygraph.

My suggestion to you. Add your website as an external link at the bottom of the article. If readers want to learn more about what is contained on Britannica's 2003 list, then they'll have that option. However, that edit which you consistently add, does not add any value to the introduction of an article on the polygraph. Yoganate79 (talk) 22:30, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

My reply: Thanks for the response. I didn't write the part about John Larson, but I did add a reference (just now) to an article showing he invented the machine. About Post-It Notes, etc. ... fair enough. Do you have any problem with my current edit? I deleted the Post-It Note stuff and added a citation.

My reply: I certainly did not intend to vandalize anything. I'll try to be more careful.
