Stop hand nuvola.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. October 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tom Darby has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://www.myspace.com/sierratomdarby) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 10:25, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

CSI:NY and how Wikipedia treats fictional topics[edit]

Hello... I'm replying here as you've indicated you cannot log in at work. Fair enough, although if you could provide your user name we could still use that talk page. Anyway, the reason that your changes are in error is because Wikipedia does not treat fictional topics in an "in the moment" manner. We write about them in a sort of permanent present tense, given that viewers could be experiencing any particular part of the story at a given time. This is also in line with our goal to produce an encyclopedic, "out-of-universe" treatment of the work, rather than a more fan-oriented "in-universe" presentation. That is why we do not rewrite first-season events into the past tense when the second season begins, and why we list all main characters based on the entire run of the series. This is not affected by deaths or departures; those events are certainly noted (no spoilers after all) but they do not lead to removal or movement to "former" categories. Rest assured that you are not alone in needing to have this explained; another common error is the tendency for newer editors to change "X is a series" to "X was a series" after a series is cancelled, despite the fact that the series still exists as a creative work. Yet another issue arises when editors list cast members as "main" cast based on personal feelings about their importance, or on perceived screen time, rather than based on the official status as determined by the studio and producers. If you like, I would be happy to provide more information on this to help explain why the deletion of cast members is contrary to accepted practise. Please let me know. Thanks in advance. --Ckatzchatspy 17:13, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

{{helpme}} I would really like to be referred to where this is in the Television project pages. Perhaps someone can understand why I am confused by this - since I can't find anything other than "this is how we treat" former characters. 24.176.191.234 (talk) 18:49, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Hello, haven't forgotten this matter - just have some real-world stuff to get through. I'll post a note as soon as I can. FYI, per your note, I'm "counselling users as an apparent admin" because I am an administrator. --Ckatzchatspy 19:22, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Apologies were made for that on your talk page. I said it was not quite apparent to me at the time that you were indeed an admin - I thought you might be a non-admin who knows Wiki very well, even though I did not know about the leaving cast members in after they depart the show. CSI: NY reference removal[edit]

You removed the reference on the grounds that the information that I entered was not present in the article. I checked the source again and there is specific mention of when the show will be aired on both Spike and TNT. The relevant paragraph is written below:

TNT has acquired the crime drama CSI: NY for its "we know drama" line-up starting Friday, July 3. They will share the series with Spike TV, which currently airs the reruns. TNT has the primetime rights starting in July, so Spike TV will be only airing it in the daytime (1-3pm) and early evening (5-7pm) starting in July as we mentioned. TNT will launch CSI: NY with a block on Friday, July 3 from 7pm-11pm. Then the series will air weeknights at 7pm and Wed-Fri at 8pm as well. [1]

Now if the above was the only problem with the information, then I will add the deleted information, that TNT has acquired the rights to air CSI: NY, back into the article. (Especially since the information from the article that I referenced can be verified by going here: TNT CSI: NY page.) However, if there was another issue involved concerning the information that I wrote in the article, then please tell me so. That way, I can make sure to be more careful in the future. --JoyaOscura (talk) 02:21, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Out of Time - CSI: Miami[edit]

This is probably the most reliable, but there are plenty others: [2] [3] [4] I'll add the tv.com one to the actual article. Regards, Alan16 (talk) 19:51, 7 August 2009 (UTC).

There is a lot of stuff added to those articles, and I believe most of it is probably true and put up in good faith, but because there is also a lot of rubbish things added, stuff really needs to be refed now. Alan16 (talk) 19:58, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Citations for a website that no longer exists.[edit]

I reverted your edits on some CSI character bio pages (and the season 10 page for the series). The bio info you removed, birthdays and early life, all came from the character bios on CBS.com, and it was a flash site so there's no way to scrape it in a google cache. Of course, they've since removed those bios, in a move to their wiki which they then dropped, so it's difficult to 'prove' the info in the first place.

Also, the blogs that have reported the first CSI S10 episode names are reliable, their information came from CBS press releases and casting sides, as well as a multitude of news reports. It would become very inconvenient and nigh impossible to read if we cited each of the myriad sources in these instances. --Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 20:52, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

September 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Anthony DiNozzo has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://cbsncis.wetpaint.com/page/NCIS+Glossary). (matching the regex rule \bwetpaint\.com\b).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:31, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

Yes, another editor wanted a citation, which I provided using the CBS website - but the 'bot reverted it. There are numerous web citations of the phrases "on your six", "got your six" or "watch your six" online, but I see the 'bots don't like it when you attempt to put one of the citations into the edit itself. AfD nomination of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (season 10)[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (season 10). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (season 10) (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

I actually did not ask for AfD either, I DID ask for admin opinion on using Twitter & blogs as sole citations - but have so far been ignored after numerous requests. I think Wikipedia will soon be absolutely useless if this continues, as there is NO way Twitter or blogs can be always confirmed as being from the person they say. 24.176.191.234 (talk) 20:37, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Re: Liam Clancy[edit]

Thanks for the message. It's funny, you are the second person on Wikipedia to share with me their past experiences in life. It can really make my contribution to the project worth while. Thanks again, and my sympathy is with you.  Cargoking  talk  22:29, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

IP welcome[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but I highly recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (24.176.191.234) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! --Tyw7  (Talk • Contributions)   Changing the world one edit at a time! 22:17, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Uh, Thanks. I've been here for more than 2 years, editing under this IP address. I cannot log in at work, and sign almost all correspondence to others with a note saying so. Trista (user name Triste Tierra, cannot log in at work) 24.176.191.234 (talk) 18:56, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Birthdate removal[edit]

Hi, thank you for your contributions on Wikipedia. Recently, you have been deleting unreferenced birthdate which I assume are done in good faith, but instead of removing the birthdate, you can always add the {{citation needed}} template at the end of the date. If you need help on how to use the template, you can always leave a message on my talk page and if you need live assistance, you can join the #wikipedia-en-help IRC chat room. If you are not familiar with IRC (or your browser doesn't support it), Click here to get connected instantly. Happy editing! Arteyu ? Blame it on me ! 22:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: Birthdates on CSI[edit]

What you've done is a big help to the Wikipedia community Trista, and don't feel bad if you've made mistakes. Removing false and copyvio materials are encouraged and I hope that you can keep up the good work. By the way, are you a big fan of CSI series? Arteyu ? Blame it on me ! 00:01, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

If a page is heavily vandalised, you can always request for full protection or semi-protection at WP:RFP or you can message any of the wiki admins and ask them for page protection. Feel free to leave messages on my talk page if you need any help. You can also email me by using this link. Take care to you too Trista and happy editing! Arteyu ? February 2010[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Gary Busey, you will be blocked from editing. ЊЪηθΩχ 19:52, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

I have written to this editor who apparently does not read edits before calling them disruptive. T. 24.176.191.234 (talk) 20:47, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Wexeb has been reported for using rollback to revert good faith edits, revert warring and ignoring inquiries about rolling back others edits without reading the edit summaries. I dislike being accused of vandalism, then blown off when I try to ask what is going on. T. 24.176.191.234 (talk) 22:25, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Please disregard that warning :) He has had his rollback removed until he can explain why he did it. Any discussion will most likely occur on his talk page. Regards, NativeForeigner Talk/Contribs 00:23, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you - but again I CANNOT LOG IN AT WORK[edit]

Which is why I edit under my IP address and explain every time that I cannot log in here. Sending repeated Welcome messages does not change that. But thank you for the kind intention. T. 24.176.191.234 (talk) 02:07, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Ah. Mind giving your username, so that does it does not violate the sock policy? Sorry for the inconvenience. You could also try the secure server? NativeForeigner Talk/Contribs 02:50, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

About the IP adding blogs[edit]

Hi Triste, User talk:174.91.250.118 could be reported now because they have been blocked numerous times this year for being noncompliance in communicating with other editors, ignoring guidelines and policy and sockpuppetry. I was trying to give them a chance, but they aren't taking it. —Mike Allen 03:48, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Edit summaries[edit]

As you may have noticed, I am using edit summaries. I delete messages to conserve space on my talk page. Treybien 2:46 18 June 2010 (UTC)

LB DVD covers[edit]

Thanks Trista. I'm sorry I can't get to this right now...I'm extremely busy in real life, but I'll try to work on the image issue soon. As for LB, you may want to one of the admin noticeboards and seek advice...I'm obviously involved so blocking him myself would be inappropriate, and I don't do much blocking anyway (just not my thing). A courtesy alert[edit]

Hello. Since you were kind enough to alert me back in December about the return of Rizzoli Isles I thought that I would return the favor and let you know that this kid has been editing again in the last couple of days. As you will see here [5] they seem to be using the 86 IP range. You may want to keep an extra eye out for them on any of the pages that you have on your watchlist. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 18:07, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for you new note. I don't know whether it will be worth opening a new sock puppet case. I'm logging off in a few minutes so I guess we will have to wait and see. MarnetteD | Talk 04:41, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

December 2012[edit]

Hello, I'm Bongwarrior. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Dana Perino because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! --Bongwarrior (talk) 23:45, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
