Indian general election, 2014[edit]

While you have a right to be BOLD in your edit, per BRD please discuss the same and gain consensus before restoring them. This was explained as being neutral with making it alphabetical. This is not the quick access infobox, but the encyclopaedic content. See talk page, the review of the suspension of the polls is listed here, at the same time this particular poll does have sources and the working source is listed, so you cannot remove a source and tag it further. BOLD change was reverted, pelase disucss. The attack an election rally is certainly pertinent.(Lihaas (talk) 18:30, 10 March 2014 (UTC)).

Ive added the caveat for the CVoter polls, and also left the hidden note you did.(Lihaas (talk) 18:33, 10 March 2014 (UTC)).
I think you didn't get my point. I mean to say since Headlines today suspended all cvoter results. So, there is no question arises if the poll have working source or not.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  18:36, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Also, you are saying mentioning party is neutral in alphabetical order(in terms of alliance or separate party ?) If it's alliance it should be in given order viz. Third front, NDA, Other and then UPA. --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  18:44, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
It was after the fact, as of now we have the sources. We also have the caveat. (Although removing the source and then tagging it as needing one is not condusicve to discussion).
Also, how does Third Front come first? It would be after NDA. And you are right on that though. Other is last since its not a specific name, just a loose grouping.Lihaas (talk) 19:45, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm not saying Third Front should come first. That's what you were saying(alphabetical order)--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  17:48, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Pratigya bhojpuri movie.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pratigya bhojpuri movie.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014[edit]

Today's motto...

Mmmmm... tastes like strawberries and cream

Nominate one today!

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Indian National Congress[edit]

You wrote: Hi, I appreciate your edits on mentioned article. Please try to avoid adding so many controversial things. since article is about Party not controversies. Also article took so much time, hard work, effort and good number of hours to re-write it. Please cooperate. Thanks.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  21:29, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

My friend, if you want the article to be all sugary then please work with the Official Congress Party Website. Our job on Wikipedia is to inform the world about a subject,, warts and all, and not to create a PR sheet. Your efforts during the last two weeks seem to be pointing towards removing all controversial material from the article. That is unacceptable and sooner or later, other editors will also take note of it. Thanks. Jonathansammy (talk) 21:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Have mentioned each and every controversy. I request you to read the article thoroughly. Do not think that I am here to hide controversies happened during its tenure. Aware with fact why wikipedia exists and what one can done with it. While writing I must have made so many grammatical mistakes and I am glad you are correcting them. But wikipedia should not become a victim of personal conflict with any party or organization. --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  07:34, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
Is that a fact? I note that you were responsible for blanking out the entire properly cited controversy section from Sheila Dixit's article, on a totally nonsensical premise of her not being convicted yet for these. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sheila_Dikshit&diff=612109670&oldid=610718614
I have restored the original section. I am very much concerned based on your edit history, and your talk page, that you are actually trying to hide all controversies related to Congress politicians, contrary to what you claim. If you tried to re-attempt a roll-back, I will be reporting you for bias and vandalism, and requesting a permanent ban against your user id. Please refrain. Abhisri (talk) 21:05, 06 July 2014 (UTC)
I have been warned for misusing of rollback already. Please spare me for a moment. But anyway, taking your message in positive way. Thanks--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  15:07, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Amrita Rao filmography[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Amrita Rao filmography. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Amrita Rao. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Amrita Rao – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Indiuser (talk) 11:33, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Re: little help[edit]

I may not be the best person for this. I would suggest adding all the information and sources that you want, as best you can, and then make a request here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors/Requests for someone to clean it up. You will see that I just added Shah Rukh Khan there. I hope this helps. BollyJeff | talk 15:45, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

File:Allahabad Climate Graph.gif[edit]

I was getting ready to review Allahabad for GA, and was checking the images for copyright issues. Although this graph is licensed {{PD-simple}}, it is from a copyrighted website and has what looks like a combined {{Non-free image data}} and {{Non-free image rationale}}. Looks like fair use rather than PD to me; please see WP:Fair use rationale guideline#Template and correct the description and license. All the best, Miniapolis 00:07, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Allahabad Climate Graph.gif[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Allahabad Climate Graph.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 11:35, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Apologies for overriding your edit here. It's just that I had spent 15 minuted or so removing overlinking, and I decided it was easier to reinstate your ref than to redo that work. I have now reinserted your work as well. Since you probably got a revert notification, I wanted to explain. Regards, Vanamonde93 (talk) 13:47, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

No no, you are most welcome to edit it. I am new for political related articles. I hearty thank you for making relevant changes. Wishes--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  14:39, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Allahabad[edit]

The article Allahabad you nominated as a good article has passed Symbol support vote.svg; see Talk:Allahabad for comments about the article. Well done! Speedy deletion nomination of File:Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". @Kailash29792: Face-sad.svg--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  07:24, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Actually, I would not call the file a "copy", but instead redundant to the original file. Moreover, Template:Infobox film clearly states that ideally film posters should be used in infoboxes, but you instead used a DVD cover. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:52, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792:Basically, I am hoping to get particular article to GA level. But the current film poster seems to be major hurdle. So thought it would be good idea if I could add better poster than the current one.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  08:04, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
It's alright, the current poster is great and has very good quality. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:23, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792:But name of the film written in non English language. I am planning to upload better version (of course better than what I've uploaded before :P). What do you say? Please suggest.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  08:47, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
It is not a must that every poster here has to be in English. Why don't you search for any better poster in google? Kailash29792 (talk) 10:09, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
I will. Thanks.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  10:18, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
And another: do you know that you can upload newer versions of files by clicking "Upload a new version of this file" in every file page? That is a far better alternative to uploading files separately. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:50, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: I seriously didn't know about that. Should I upload the same file under existing image? --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  11:16, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
You seriously don't have to upload any new image of the film as no other seems available; we only use posters here, not DVD covers (unless the film did not have a theatrical release, or its poster is unavailable). The current image is good, and that's the end of it. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:39, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: Yes check.svg Done Would you please review Vivah ? Please, if you can.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  09:52, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── maybe later this week. moreover, I've yet to see the film. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:04, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Classic, till that I will spend my time time writing Maharashtra.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  10:22, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: Can I upload film poster (and replace it), if article contains DVD poster in its infobox?--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  16:03, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
There is no such thing as a "DVD poster". Only DVD covers exist, and don't replace Maine Pyar Kiya's current image (a theatrical poster) in any manner. It is good enough for display here, and Bollywood is moreover famous for its posters. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:09, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: My queries could be foolish since I am novice for cinema article. By the way can you do little copy editing or correction in Plot section of Hum Saath-Saath Hain. It feels like I have used peacock terms while writing.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  07:16, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
Are you intending on taking it to GA status? If yes, please list it at the WP:GOCE requests page, and you can expect a polished copyedit in at least six weeks time. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:40, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792:No, have no such plan. I hardly know anything about movie say for example production detail, release etc.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  12:06, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Content requires sources[edit]

Note that editors adding or restoring content are REQUIRED to provide appropriate reliably published sourcing for claims. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:53, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

I have added Under construction which means article is in process of development. You don't need to remove contents until you see that tag. Try to take wikipedia rules in positive way.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  20:57, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Adding that template doesn't allow you to add back material that has been removed as unsourced, without providing a source for it when you add it back. And adding the {{Under construction}} tag to a more than six months old article in an attempt to prevent someone from removing unsourced material that has been in the article for a while is purely disruptive. Thomas.W talk 21:22, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
@Thomas.W: To my knowledge that template mean particular user is in process of finding reliable sources. --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  06:57, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
No, it doesn't, it means that an article is "is in the process of an expansion or major restructuring". It can not be used as an excuse for not providing sources when re-adding material that has been removed for being unsourced, and adding it the way you did is purely disruptive. Thomas.W talk 07:33, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
@Thomas.W: That's not an excuse. People will add sources only after they find one. It takes times and doesn't work according to someone's way. User "TheRedPenOfDoom" removed most of relevant edits like Filmfare nomination, awards and etc. without proper discussion on article's talk page. Have added with source and adding it back with proper and reliable source doesn't seems to be disruptive. The further unwanteed revert by that particular user will get him block. Thanks--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  07:39, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Just check TRPoD talk page, full of warnings. That user seems to be deletionist rather than than true Wikipedian. I will not get into an edit war with either him or you, he is quite interested on such things.
It's full of warnings from people who don't know the rules, like you, and people who try to bend the rules. The job he's doing needs to be done, to keep fancruft and unsourced material out of the encyclopaedia that WP is supposed to be. Thomas.W talk 16:14, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
I don't want to indulge in any kind of irritating conversation. I would prefer to stay away from this insanity. He will enjoy nice block, sooner or later. Please do not reply further as I want my talk page filled with good things. Thanks25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  18:24, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 30[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Salman Khan filmography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rambha. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

October 2nd[edit]

What in case with ther articles of actors like shahrukhkhan and Aamirkhan? No wiki lead policy ther? No problem there? Too much vast and unsourced content. Needs a clean up. Only salman khan article is a problem with you? Unbelievable. Favoring some actors and discrimination of other actor? This the policy of Wikipedia? Shame. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harirajmohanhrm (talkcontribs) 12:12, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

I think you are talking about lead section of Salman Khan. You can clean Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan articles if it has some issues. For your information, let me tell you, I have written Salman Khan filmography completely. You can check here. So there's nothing like favoring or discrimination. You need to follow some rules before making edits. If I won't revert someone else will. So it's good if you read WP:LEAD. --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  20:20, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Salman Khan[edit]

I noticed your revert of my edit to this article. I marked "debute" as sic because it is an error, the correct spelling being "debut". I tagged it to avoid it being seen as an error by Wikipedia, which it is not. The error is in the cited reference. We have two options: (1) Change the spelling in the article to the correct one (debut) or (2) mark the error with the sic tag. Whichever we choose we should not leave it as it is because it is an error and we should make sure that people don't think it's Wikipedia's error, which it isn't. Jodosma (talk) 17:41, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

Reverted because I didn't know about those options. Thank you so much for informing. I think it's best to change the spelling than marking a tag.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  14:56, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
You're welcome, incidentally the correct spelling can be seen in the given ref if you look very carefully at the YouTube video screen rather than the caption supplied by the uploader. I'll change the spelling and put this info in the edit summary. Jodosma (talk) 17:04, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks a lot.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  14:22, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Promotional, unreliable sources[edit]

I just ran across your edits here. To start, please note that extraneous external links you added are inappropriate.

As far as the sources go:

  • imdb.com, while often used, is generally not a reliable source
  • planetradiocity.com is a poor source if not unreliable
  • awardsandwinners.com (redirected from whosdatedwho), doesn't appear reliable
  • lgw.in is a lyrics website - strange that you misspelled just the one letter like that
  • igw.in is dead whatever it may have been. I can find no archive
  • whosdatedwho.com is not a reliable source

Please be more careful with sources, and be especially so in BLPs. --Ronz (talk) 17:18, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

  • Thanks a lot. I have made a note of it. --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  04:50, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello 25 Cents FC. All or some of your addition(s) to Guzaarish (2010 film) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:08, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

    • Thanks for notifying me. Feels like I must make my own sentences rather than adding blindly. As you can see article is in pathetic state, so hope you understand my mistakes. Also, the whole plot isn't copied from the site you have mentioned. It's a detail internet research. But anyway, Thanks again. :-) --25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  19:47, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
