Why are you deleting information from pages of historical figures with the edit summary "current consensus is to limit the template to four generations"? It does not seem to be vandalism but you seem to be removing a lot of information that could be important. CGP05 (talk) 01:57, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There was discussion about this on Template talk:Ahnentafel, where the concern was due to excessiveness. I was following the example of several others who removed those generations from that template. 2601:249:9301:D570:A816:92C7:D319:2ABA (talk) 01:58, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help us identify where on that talk page you're finding the current consensus? I clicked through from one of your edit summaries but Template talk:Ahnentafel is almost 250kb of text.
Noting that I currently have no opinion on your edits per se, all the conversations on the linked talkpage are from three to five years ago, so I'm wondering why this is suddenly a priority. Folly Mox (talk) 10:28, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did it because despite the efforts of people such as User:Surtsicna (who was one of the people who argued in favor of only four generations), not all of the pages that use the template had been appropriately edited, so I decided to check them in one fell swoop. 2601:249:9301:D570:A816:92C7:D319:2ABA (talk) 12:31, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any consensus on that talk page, just a huge unresolved argument. Furius (talk) 20:55, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't doing vandalism, I removed those items as there has been a growing sentiment that going beyond four generations in the Template:Ahnentafel, as discussed at Template talk:Ahnentafel, is excessive and of limited relevance. 2601:249:9301:D570:A816:92C7:D319:2ABA (talk) 13:13, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed those generations, since Template talk:Ahnentafel supports limiting the template to four generations. 2601:249:9301:D570:A816:92C7:D319:2ABA (talk) 00:20, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
