Hey! Thanks so much. I can't wait to keep on contributing, and I'm glad that I don't have to go through that article request process anymore. 3602kiva (talk) 17:32, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Mike Sinnett requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Polio

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edit on polio. A couple of comments

  1. you have used the word "currently". Please consider qualifying this using the Template:As of
  1. you haven't accurately summarised the source. The other type of polio - cVDPV - has 28 mentions on the page. Currently in the news because of Gaza, but last year detected in New York and London.

Bob (talk) 07:44, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,
Sorry about that, I've went ahead and added the "As of" template. As for your second point, I'm not exactly sure how to summarize the source. I've just went ahead and found a different source which is more clearly targeted towards WPV.
Cheers,
3602kiva (talk) 17:01, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree it's tricky. I'm aiming to do a few edits to other sections of the page to clarify the nature and threat of cVDPV. It's a featured article so I need to plan carefully. Bob (talk) 17:23, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed misuse

[edit]

When adding statements to an article, such as you did to Pinus longaeva, they need to have a reference. Adding the Template:Citation needed to your own statement is not appropriate way to avoid this requirement. If you do not have a reference for information you want to add to Wikipedia, find a reliable source or do not add it. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 21:22, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Postel 1994

[edit]

You've got Postel (1994) San Mateo: A Centennial History listed in the further reading of Crystal Springs Dam, but you'll want to use p. 27 as it gives some detail as to how it was built that you don't have in the article. I linked to it up above on Internet Archive. Viriditas (talk) 18:01, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note, you've also got unsourced content in the article that you'll need to add citations to for the article to pass GAN. Viriditas (talk) 18:03, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for messing up the citation, but you figured out what I meant. Make sure that everything that appears in the lead is cited in the body. The third paragraph of the background section is still unsourced, as is the fourth paragraph (or sentence) of the construction section and the second paragraph of the operations and repairs section. Viriditas (talk) 23:04, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. I appreciate all of the great help and feedback! 3602kiva (talk) 00:12, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Category disambiguation

[edit]

Howdy. May I recommend a post on Wikipedia:Village pump (idea lab). This page is designed to throw out ideas. I agree with you that more specifications can be asked for. Category diffuse is to tell editors that they should break up a category into smaller categories. The category container template is to note that the category's existence is to only be for subcategories and that no singular pages should be under that category. If you want to throw an idea out for others to throw around, I suggest the village pump. Mitch32(it's you I like.) 02:09, 24 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Crystal Springs Dam

[edit]

On 2 October 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Crystal Springs Dam, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Crystal Springs Dam survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake despite being built just 1,000 feet (300 m) from the San Andreas Fault? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Crystal Springs Dam. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Crystal Springs Dam), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Gradient username question

[edit]

Hello! I was randomally going through signature examples and yours happen to be on there. I really like your username and the gradient theme! It reminds me of windows colours!! Anyway, if its possible may you please help me out by typing up the template used for it? 03:21, 16 January 2026 (UTC) Ilikememes128 (talk) 03:21, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I was going for the Google Chrome Colors, but hey, Windows works as well.
Here's my template.
<b>[[User:3602kiva|<span style="color:#000;text-shadow:2px -4px 15px #1E88E5,2px 4px 15px #06923E">3602</span><span style="color:#000;text-shadow:-2px -4px 10px #E62727,-3px 8px 12px #FBC02D">kiva</span>]][[User talk:3602kiva| (💬)]]</b>
It's a bit weird, but I'm sure you can alter it to work with your username as well.
Best of luck!
