Question from Pramod8375 (12:32, 3 October 2024)
[edit]Hello! Hope you are well. I tried making some edits to a page, Louis Lagassé, with proper sourced information but it was deleted by someone I suspect has a conflict of interest, user Media5130. I went on the article's Talk page to ask the question and asked the help of an admin. Not sure what else I can do? Thanks in advance for any assitance. --Pramod8375 (talk) 12:32, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. I apologize for the late response, but it seems that some users have replied to your question on the article's talk page. Cheers. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 19:48, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
Question from 22levkush8 (18:44, 3 October 2024)
[edit]Hi. I would like to add an article about a music artist from Russia. His pseudonym is MOZY. He is quite well known in middle-class circles. There are publications about him in the local media --22levkush8 (talk) 18:44, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- You can create the article in your userspace, or on a draft page, but when you add references, they must say that the artist is notable. In addition, do attempt to not use promotional-sounding language. I hope this reply helps. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 19:53, 5 October 2024 (UTC)

Weekly highlight
- Communities can now request installation of Automoderator on their wiki. Automoderator is an automated anti-vandalism tool that reverts bad edits based on scores from the new "Revert Risk" machine learning model. You can read details about the necessary steps for installation and configuration. [1]
Updates for editors
- Translators in wikis where the mobile experience of Content Translation is available, can now customize their articles suggestion list from 41 filtering options when using the tool. This topic-based article suggestion feature makes it easy for translators to self-discover relevant articles based on their area of interest and translate them. Updates for technical contributors
- It is now possible for

code blocks to offer readers a "Copy" button if thecopy=1
attribute is set on the tag. Thanks to SD0001 for these improvements. [3] - Customized copyright footer messages on all wikis will be updated. The new versions will use wikitext markup instead of requiring editing raw HTML. [4]
- Later this month, temporary accounts will be rolled out on several pilot wikis. The final list of the wikis will be published in the second half of the month. If you maintain any tools, bots, or gadgets on these 11 wikis, and your software is using data about IP addresses or is available for logged-out users, please check if it needs to be updated to work with temporary accounts. Guidance on how to update the code is available.
- Rate limiting has been enabled for the code review tools Gerrit and GitLab to address ongoing issues caused by malicious traffic and scraping. Clients that open too many concurrent connections will be restricted for a few minutes. This rate limiting is managed through nftables firewall rules. For more details, see Wikitech's pages on Firewall, GitLab limits and Gerrit operations.
- Five new wikis have been created:

Question from Marshalldan1431 (12:10, 9 October 2024)
[edit]Hi mentor! I want to create a page, or request the creation of a page, relating to a UK company that I am linked to. I have researched comparable pages for other companies in the industry, and believe it has the appropriate level of notability. have a factual text with references written in the Wikipedia style without promotional content. Can you please advise me on whether I should attempt to create this page myself, or is there another method for submission, where editors can consider it / reject it / feed back? Is the AFC process the appropriate channel for this? I appreciate any advise you can provide. Thanks --Marshalldan1431 (talk) 12:10, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, new user. First, it might be appropriate to disclose about your employer or who is paying you to edit on your user page first, using {{User COI}}. Next, all users have sandbox in their userspace, so they can practice editing or create their articles, but it might be a good idea to use the AFC process first using the article wizard first, and following all instructions from that page. I hope my advice helps, and welcome to the project. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 02:43, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
