October 2012[edit]

Please stop removing references from the Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands article. Also, the reference says "Beverly Hills" not "Pearl". If you have a source to the contrary, you can use it.MartinezMD (talk) 06:07, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

I own a home on St. John and consider the reference to Beverley Hills as completely inaccurate (regardless of the source noted). I have however repeatedly heard reference made that St. john is the 'Pearl of the Carribben'. Also, the North shore beaches are not the "most popular" beaches in the carribbean, it is their beauty, and not their popularity (as evidenced by the fact they are seldom busy) that makes them unique among the other Islands. I ask that you not undo the changes.

Wikipedia uses reliable sources for information, not individual anecdotes or what you have heard. Also, when making a claim about a subjective topic, editors have to maintain a neutral point of view. If you think the beauty of the beaches is what makes them unique, then find a reliable source that states that and reference it in the article. This would apply to the 'Pearl' vs 'Beverly Hills'. The noted reference specifically states is is Beverly Hills. You provide no source to the contrary. Lastly, you can create an account to make communicating with other editors easier. Using the anonymous method would lump you together with anyone else on that IP. MartinezMD (talk) 03:26, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
