March 2009[edit]

Information.svg Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Mike Lawlor. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Same applies to Andrew J. McDonald. Yo, I'll get the cite but since these genuises probably got ripped in every church in the state this weekend don;t blame me for the "potentially controversial edit" Tell these guys Orwell is dead.

I'm afraid that putting controversial material onto Wikipedia requires verifiability and a blog posting is not a reliable source. And neither is saying that it was read out in church. Take a read of WP:SOURCES for what is acceptable. Note the following line:

:Anyone can create a website or pay to have a book published, then claim to be an expert in a certain field. For that reason, self-published books, newsletters, personal websites, open wikis, blogs, forum postings, and similar sources are largely not acceptable.

Take a look at Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. — Lincolnite (talk) 18:21, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Mike Lawlor misplacement of information[edit]

re: Your message on my talk page.

You will have to discuss with the other editors above the issues of reliable source. My reversion was based on the information being randomly stuck in an article without considering where it should go. E.G., if it's about 2009, put it after 2008. There may be more required to work it into the flow of the article, but at least start with the correct placement in the timeline. Sincerely, Proofreader77 (talk) 01:58, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Nuvola apps important.svg Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to Christopher Dodd, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Richard Blumenthal has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bblog(?:cu|fa|harbor|mybrain|post|savy|spot|townhall)?\.com\b (links: http://ctgop.blogspot.com/2007/11/company-that-dick-blumenthal-keeps.html). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Sourcing[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Richard Blumenthal. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. MastCell Talk 05:55, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

April 2009[edit]

Stop hand nuvola.svg This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did to Compact fluorescent lamp, you will be blocked from editing. Also please see the discussion here on why it's not what the article has said. Any attempt to re-add without taking into account the considerations noted will result in a block as you've had multiple warnings. Nja247 14:56, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

In response to this: The warning is due to a demonstrative history on this talk page of disruption. Note that the issue in this instance has nothing to do with the paper itself, but the incorrect citations being attributed to it. See here for exactly why the text should not be re-added without amendments. Also you are advised against attacking others, as you did on my talk page. Nja247 16:30, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

June 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Jack Woltz has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xd0tw9wob4). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.
