You think it has to be 512-bit, and now 384-bit? Why do you think that a 16rop justifies an increased memory bit rate? That hasn't been the case in the recent past. The HD48xx to HD58xx doubled everything, rops, tmus and sps, but the memory bit stayed at 256-bit. The HD48xx to HD57xx has the same number of rops, tmus, and sps, but the memory bit actually decreased from 256-bit to 128-bit.
