He did not create Wikipedia and he has never been part of the project. He only gets involved in legal matters. Larry Sanger created Wikipedia and made Wales famous. Wales is taking credit for what Sanger did. QuackGuru (talk) 18:45, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

I thought Mr. Wales and Mr. Sanger are co-founders. (talk) 14:33, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Well, Jimmy Wales founded NuPedia and transformed it into Wikipedia by installing the wiki software/database (as Wales the programmer) and directing Larry Sanger to shift focus into the Wikipedia work, but Larry disliked the wiki concept and preferred the prior, 7-level approval process of NuPedia, which approved 22 articles during a 2-year process. When Wales insisted the wiki collaboration was better, Sanger soon quit and started Citizendium. I like to say, "Pontius Pilate was co-founder of Christianity" (with peace, love and forgiveness) because he had Jesus flogged with 39 lashes and crucified by Roman soldiers, but "co-founder". -Wikid77 (talk) 15:49, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
