January 2014[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to List of bears has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of soups may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

List of breads[edit]

Hi, Thanks for adding to List of breads but you added 3 invalid images, and broke 3 more images by editing their names. File names are case-sensitive, and you can't just correct spelling in them. So thanks again for the additions, just be careful of images, and check the article after you have edited to check it has turned out as you expect. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:36, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

February 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Ectatomminae, with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 06:20, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Cheirogaleidae, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Help :-)[edit]

Red billed gull speaks.jpg

Hi, I can see you have a wide breadth of knowledge and a lot of energy for fixing things, but you have run headlong into a lot of quirkes of wiki editing that mean that many of your fixes caused problems. Eg two single quotes on either side of things displays them in italics - usually used for species scientific names, accidentally converting them to double quotes means something different. Correcting spelling in picture names (enclosed in square brackets [[ ... .jpg]] ), or templates (enclosed in curly brackets {{ ... }} ), breaks things (they can no longer connect to what they're referencing). When fixing redlinked pages for species, double check the scientific name as sometimes there are entirely different species with similar common names (and by the way, Koalas are not actually bears despite the name!). So I am now sorry that I have reverted some of your changes because I didn't understand them, please try again but show us the sources or mention them in your edit summary when saving your changes.

PS create an account and it will be easier to communicate with you. :-) --Tony Wills (talk) 11:21, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

February 2014 warning 3[edit]

Breaking various "List of..." articles[edit]

You clearly are trying to edit constructively, but please be aware that your attempts to add photos to various "List of..." articles are not working. I'm not quite sure of what the problem is, and suggest that you compare working entries with broken ones very carefully to see what the difference is. At any rate, please troubleshoot and fix what you've already done, rather than pressing ahead into further changes. Otherwise you run the risk that another editor will revert the articles completely, and you will lose all your efforts. I'm sure that whatever the problem is, it is very simple to fix once you find it. Cheers! Reify-tech (talk) 04:32, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

On further investigation, it seems that the problem is that the photo files you specify do not exist yet in Wikipedia Commons. Until/unless you identify usable photo files, you should change all the photo filenames back to what they were before (something like <!--[[File:|120px]]-->) so that they don't show up as errors in the article. Please correct these problems immediately; otherwise some other Wikipedia editor will likely revert all the changes you've made so far. Reify-tech (talk) 04:51, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

StopYour image links are not working and you are adding food origins that are not substantiated by the related articles. Some of your edits are helpful and I have done my best to incorporate them. Please read Wikipedia:Uploading images before attempting further edits. Ibadibam (talk) 20:01, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

I think your edits are in good faith, but it would be helpful if you used edit summary and responded to the messages of myself and other users. I've started discussions here, about Dinkelbrot and here, about pancakes and would love your input. Ibadibam (talk) 22:01, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
