Thank you for answering my question on the Reference Desk! --Ye Olde Luke (talk) 23:55, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

User:, welcome to wikipedia! From hanging around the reference desk, it appears you are becoming a fairly regular user on wikipedia. Perhaps you are already a regular editor who has been forgetting to sign in lately, but if not, please consider registering a username. It's fast, easy, facilitates involvement in the community, gives a few editing abilities not available to anonymous editors, allows you to track your edits (even if they are made from a foreign computer), keep tabs on interesting articles, gives your opinion more weight in disputes that require consensus, and much much more! If you are a regular editor, I apologize for the solicitation. If not, please consider joinging the team! In any event, thanks for your participation in the prject.--Shaggorama (talk) 20:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello! I've noticed that you have edited Wikipedia without logging in to an account. It's great that you've been contributing; however, I urge you to create an account. Here is a list of the benefits of having an account:

There are no cons to signing up for an account. In fact, you can find even more pros at the "why create an account" page! Signing up is completely free and you don't need to enter any personal information! Plus you can have a user page, which you can use to show your interests, style, or nearly whatever! So, unless you can think of a con, please sign up for an account right now! Regards, CycloneNimrod talk?contribs? 17:08, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your answer about scientists holding back unpleasant knowledge[edit]

And this is [my response].--Dr. Carefree (talk) 01:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your edits to Genetics! They were very knowledgeable and great improvements. I was disappointed to see an anon IP because I wanted to express my gratitude, I can only hope this note finds it way to the author.  :-) Madeleine 03:49, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Information.png Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to HTTrack has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Thank you for answering my question on the Reference Desk again! --Ye Olde Luke (talk) 06:14, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

It asked to clean out hundreds of temporary files and now it tells me getting rid of them may violate some license agreements with some of the programs on my computer. How do I fix that? --Crackthewhip775 (talk) 01:54, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Clean out the temp files. You don't need them. Don't worry about the licensing agreement thing—any licensing agreement that deposits spyware on your machine is probably worth violating anyway. It's just a legal disclaimer—ignore it as you probably do others. -- (talk) 02:19, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: IE6 "Active content" warnings, javascript permissions, blah[edit]

Upgrade to IE7. Here's the link for you to download: . Personally though, I'd stick to Firefox. Seems more reliable in my opinion. --Crackthewhip775 (talk) 23:28, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

PHP/HTML Question[edit]

Hi! I asked the ref desk question on PHP#html photo galleries

I was wondering how DO you make a website like the one I showed? Did the person use a program to automatically make all those different pages^ or Is that done with PHP? (the website is here:

Sorry, I'm quite new at all of this, and thanks for your help!

I have reverted your deletions. Please bring your concerns to talk. Thank you. --John (talk) 04:27, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

So they can be ignored indefinitely? I'm being bold and explaining them quite concisely. Bring your concerns to talk if you care about it. -- (talk) 04:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, but I'm right when I say he was a "Russian national". His citizenship was Russian. Right?-- (talk) 04:10, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Please reply to Reference Desk questions on the desk itself. -- (talk) 05:04, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Ref Desk answer methods discussion[edit]

While I'm willing to discuss these, civilly, and responded to you where you posted, I feel that my talk page (or yours) would be a better place to discuss such things than in the middle of a Ref Desk Q: [1]. So, please post such concerns on my talk page in the future. Thanks, StuRat (talk) 17:15, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

For this. An elegant explanation as to why the Reference desk should be just that, not an opinion/discussion forum. Rockpocket 18:54, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
