Hi, you indefinitely semi-protected and move protected Template:QuebecMNAbio in 2012. I don't believe move protection is warranted, and I would like to move the template. Can you please downgrade the protection to allow template editors to move it? Cheers, MClay1 (talk) 11:54, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- As I have returned my admin permissions, I'm afraid that you will need to ask another administrator or at WP:RFPP. The template-editor user right was introduced after I protected this high visibility template, and you're right that template-protection would now be more appropriate. July music
my story today |
Listening to Siegfried from the 2023 Bayreuth Festival, third act, Andreas Schager as Siegfried waking up Brünnhilde, reminded me of this discussion. Was there anything in it demanding arbitration? - A few weeks later, three participants were admonished, - for what still remains a mystery to me? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:31, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Today Jahrhundertring, and I'm listening to Götterdämmerung from the Bayreuth Festival, close to the scene pictured, - the image (of a woman who can't believe what she has to see) features also on the article talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:40, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
Always precious
Eleven years ago, you were found precious. That's what you are, always. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:25, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- That's very sweet of you. Thank you. Take care, AGK (talk) 17:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Old IP indef
Hi, AGK. I'm aware you're no longer an admin, but you're probably the best person to ask here. In 2011, you unblocked Special:Contribs/72.177.68.38 (indeffed by now-banned Ryulong in 2007 in relation to Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Bobabobabo), and then reblocked a minute later. To your knowledge is there any reason that that IP indef should still be in place? Or is this something I should ask a current CU to double-check? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:20, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

- @Tamzin: Hi! I don't have any special knowledge about this. That in itself is probably a positive sign that unblocking would be safe. Looking at the block log, although I don't remember, my guess is that I meant to unblock this IP address and then I misclicked something.
- On the date of the re-block I had the checkuser permission, so the unblock should still be looked over by a current CU.
- I hope this helps :) AGK (talk) 17:21, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response, AGK. @Yamla or @RoySmith, you've both dealt with IP indefs recently; would one of you mind taking a look at this one? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 18:06, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'll take a look. --Yamla (talk) 18:09, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- No recent activity and spur says only a few devices are online. I can therefore say the checkuser-part of this block is cleared. I see no reason to consider leaving the block in place. --Yamla (talk) 18:12, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Yamla. Unlike the last time I asked you about one of these, I'm currently kicking it with AGK in non-admin-land; would you mind unblocking? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 18:13, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- Will do! --Yamla (talk) 18:16, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Request for arbitration
Hi, I wonder if you can take a look at User talk:Marokwitz#1RR at Nakba and arbitrate in a policy-based disagreement ? Thanks in advance. Marokwitz (talk) 14:55, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Potential arbitration question regarding CTOP
Hi, AGK! I saw your name on the list of editors willing to provide assistance, particularly regarding potential arbitration issues. I have a question about an editor who has fewer than 200 edits, has been on Wikipedia since 2008, and has created two articles related to A-I this past month. They received an initial CTOP warning two years ago, then refrained from the topic until recently. To be fair, they seem to make about a dozen edits per year, then disappear. I provided a level 2 CTOP warning yesterday, then they created Wikipedia and the 2023 Israel-Palestine war today, which they then also added to Template:Wikipedia; they did not respond to my message, so it's possible they didn't see it. I don't particularly take issue with most of their edits, but I wanted to seek guidance before potentially bringing it to arbitration or even just giving another notification. I'd really appreciate any guidance you can provide. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:03, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Significa, the article is translated from the Arabic one I already created a couple of days ago. Also, I'm sorry if I missed any message you sent. --Freedom's Falcon (talk) 20:11, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, Freedom's Falcon! Thank you for letting me know. As a note, when you translate content from other Wikipedias, you'll want to include attribution to the original content, as discussed at Help:Translation. As noted, I don't particularly see any problems with your edits. It's just worth noting that, according to WP:CT/A-I, users with fewer than 500 edits should not edit articles related to the "Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted". As such, if you are interested in continuing working on articles relating to this topic, I would recommend spending significant time and energy editing unrelated article to get your edit count above 500.
