revert

I have reverted your "merge" of the Hapan content to Star Wars galaxy. It placed inappropriate focus on the topic, and your copy-and-paste didn't address any of the sourcing or other WP:OR inherent in the article's underlying copy-and-paste from Wookieepedia. Per your WP:BRD "merge", I'll paste the content to the article's talk page for a discussion of what, if any, content is worth merging. --EEMIV (talk) 04:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

That is fine as I am not opposed to making it tighter and better referenced. Any help to that end is always appreciated. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 04:41, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Merger procedure

No comment on the merits of the merge, but this edit summary isn't sufficient for our licensing requirements. The steps at WP:SMERGE lay out what needs to be in the edit summary, namely the source page name. Some people prefer to add the oldid of the revision when they merge content that doesn't result in a redirect, but I don't actually know if that is necessary. It's not a big deal, but I figured you would want to know for future cases. Protonk (talk) 20:26, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes, looking at the diff, you are correct; I accidentally forgot to include the link to the old page. Anyway, thanks for the heads up! Best, --A NobodyMy talk 21:12, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of World domination

The article World domination has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is strictly original research. No evidence is given that any of the real historical information is related to the topic of "world domination." No references are given for fictional "world domination", or that it has even been discussed in secondary sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Steve Dufour (talk) 02:07, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up, but I am not sure if you are asking me to rescue this article or what exactly as I am not the article's creator? If I can help, let me know. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 05:12, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

What happened to WP:Article rescue contest 2, do you still want to do this? Ikip (talk) 22:10, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Importing at Wikia

I imported Roman Harris to wikia:Homeandaway:Roman Harris. I removed the Wikipedia-specific templates and categories such as {{refimprove}}, as well as the infobox, because it didn't seem to copy over correctly. Does the Wikia have infoboxes for characters, etc?

It's the first one I've done. What is the plan for images? Matthewedwards :  Chat  23:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

I do not believe they do, but no reason we cannot make them ourselves, no? For images, if they still count as fair use, I do not see why we could not import those as well? Best, --A NobodyMy talk 23:01, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mao Amin

The article Mao Amin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources notwithstanding, I cannot see any compliance with WP:MUSICBIO here. No record sales, no notable chart hits, and no notable awards. At best, it needs work to establish notability.

Orphaned non-free image (File:PlayStation 2 Resident Evil 4 covers.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:PlayStation 2 Resident Evil 4 covers.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 05:24, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Evening - help request?

Hey Nobody. I know in the past you've asked me to repost the mini-essay I had on my userpage about deletionism. Well, I've gone ahead and updated it.

But that's not the actual thing I wanted. See, the article Recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series is under a mergism threat. There's a bunch of claims, but the one that most of the sources aren't third party is valid. I know you've got a real talent for sniffing out sources where no one else could - so if you get some free time could you see if you can drag up some good stuff? Thanks.

If you care to join the discussion about the merge, it's here. McJEFF (talk) 08:25, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I have watch listed it and added it to my userpage list of articles to work on. Specifically, I think I will see if I can find anything on general reception of enemies. By the way, the below template on your userpage is so true! Best, --A NobodyMy talk 16:41, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Mergers

Hi. I saw you at User talk:ThaddeusB#Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Isola (fictional island). Coincidentally, I am collaborating with ThaddeusB on simplifying the instructions at Help:Merging. I noticed that you merged content from Federal Republic of Aurelia to Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, but didn't tag the redirect with {{R from merge}}. I fixed it for you – keep in mind that the deluxe edit summary is my own style and isn't required. I see that you're using {{Copied}}, which is great, but please be careful to set from and to correctly. I fixed those also.

On a separate note, I saw that you have merged a few articles while they were being considered at AfD:

According to WP:Guide to deletion#You may edit the article during the discussion, "You should exercise extreme caution before merging any part of the article." Guide to deletion is not very active, so I've started a discussion at WT:Articles for deletion#Merging during live AfD to see if this guidance is reflective of current consensus. I have commented there. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 19:32, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Addition to Sport Clips Stub Thank you for adopting me. I am proposing the following for additions to the Sport Clips stub and would like your input. I followed the parameters of another haircutter's Wikipedia page, but the first time I posted it, it was deleted. After making revisions, we're hoping this edit will stand. Thank you for your input.

Sport Clips additional information

Sport Clips stores feature a sports-themed interior with a big screen television in the lobby, televisions at each cutting station tuned to sports, and stylists dressed in sports attire.

The privately held company’s “unique” franchise concept has been highlighted in the Wall Street Journal [1] [2] [3], as well as other aspects of the company by major media outlets such as Entrepreneur Magazine [4], CNBC, the Associated Press [5], Franchise Times [6], American Salon [7] and Dun & Bradstreet’s AllBusiness.com [8].

Additional media outlets that have covered Sport Clips growth include the Austin Business Journal [9], Dallas Morning News [10], Modern Salon [11] and Franchising World and the book Franchising for Dummies [12] recognizes Sport Clips for its market niche.

Affiliations

Sport Clips sponsors Joey Logano of Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. It is affiliated with several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and National Hockey League (NHL). Sport Clips is also the “Official Haircutter” of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the largest contributor to the VFW’s Operation Uplink free call days program, and offers preferential pricing to veterans.

History

Based in Georgetown, Texas, Sport Clips was founded by military veteran, CPA, and MIT and Wharton School of Business graduate, Gordon Logan. In the early '90s, Logan recognized the potential and relative lack of competition in the men's and boys’ hair care segment. The first Sport Clips opened in 1993 in Austin, Texas and franchising began in 1995. Sport Clips expects to have 700 stores open by year end 2009.

Thank you for approaching me about my stance in a reasonable and persuasive manner, i.e. not just jumping on me. Almost enough to make me go to weak support! :) Anyway, I strongly believe in discussions we should be open minded and willing to switch from delete to keep, oppose to neutral or support, rather than just dig in, which is why I am always happy and willing to engage others and to be challenged myself. Anyway, good luck! At this point it will probably pass. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 23:35, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
