re Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zoids Graphics and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robo Strux

There was nothing sourced on those pages. Cirt (talk) 03:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

The information can still be helpful per WP:PRESERVE, i.e. we can merge it as worded, but add sources to confirm it, i.e. copy and paste the verifiable information, but add such reliable sources as references as found here, for example. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 03:46, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks...

...for this. Drmies (talk) 21:01, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

You are welcome. I also left a "no personal attack" warning on the IP's talk page. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 21:02, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Closing

You can close: Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_deletion#Some_ideas_for_reform the conversation has seemed to degenerate as I expected it would. Just add the {{collapse top|REASON FOR CLOSURE}} {{collapse bottom}}. This is exactly what I did above this discussion with the google hits suggestion.

In the future, make the suggestion on several other editors talk pages, build a rough consensus, then expose it to the brutal and nasty AFD page, or skip the AFD page altogether and go to a RFC. Ikip (talk) 21:29, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

If you would like to close it, go ahead, or just ignore it as once it became obvious that bad faith, dishonesty, etc. has taken over, I stopped reading the discussion. Take care! TGIF, right! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 00:48, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Just my $0.02 as a friendly TPS, but perhaps WP:JUSTAPOLICY would apply in some of these cases? I often find people claiming "x isn't notable" but they fail to show why and more often than not even a cursory search of Google Books or Google Scholar turns up material that can be integrated into the article. --Tothwolf (talk) 16:12, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Valid suggestion. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 16:39, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Adoption Request to Re-Submit Deleted Page

Dear A Nobody,

I am new to wikipedia, and would like to see if a page that was deleted in 2006 can be rescued with your help. I would like to ask if you would be willing to adopt me and give me assistance in this re-submission process. I originally sent you an e-mail,and am re-posting here as requested.

The page is Immunocal and was deleted in 2006 for the following reason:"The result was delete; its existence may be verified, but there is no verification from third-party sources that this is a notable product. --Sam Blanning(talk) 22:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)"

On Sam Blanning's talk page, it says that he is no longer editing on Wikipedia and will not respond to the posts.

I wasn't able to figure out how to view the actual page that was submitted, but would like to know what verification from third-party sources would be required to make this a notable product. I would like to consider re-submitting a new page, but need to know what is required as third-party sources.

I have read over the guidelines for source material, and it looks like the following may be considered acceptable third-party sources. Is this correct? And would this be enough to submit a page?

There are references to Immunocal in the following publications:

United States Physician's Desk Reference ( 1999-2009) Canadian Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties (2009) Oxidative Stress in Cancer, AIDS, and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Copyright 1998 by Dr. Luc Montagnier, Winner of Nobel Prize in Medicine, 2008

Also on the following websites:

www.pubmed.gov - Nathional Institutes of Health sponsored website of published medical studies www.fda.gov - Food and Drug Administration www.patft.uspto.gov US Patent Office

Would this be a sufficient source of information to start a page? If there is someone who can point me to the original page and tell me what is needed to be changed for re-consideration, that would be a great place to start and I would like to re-submit.

Incidentally, I chose two names at random, and found a page for MonaVie which has 1 published study on PubMed ( Immunocal has 27; 11 by name and the rest by the term undenatured whey protein), and a page for XanGo which has no published studies on PubMed. So how is it determined that a company or product deserves a page? And which should come first, Immunotec the company that makes Immunocal, or Immunocal itself? The published research on Immunocal goes back over 30 years.

I know Wikipedia is not the place to advertise, but am interested in presenting a factual neutral POV page and would like assistance with that. You may be the best person to help me. I would be happy to assist in re-submitting new information if I know what is required.

Would you be willing to adopt me? Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, LivingWell4U (talk) 21:44, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I am certainly willing to adopt you. What I would advise first is to post a help request, i.e. {{helpme}} on your talk page asking if an admin would userfy the deleted article for you. Then, when userfied, we can work together on it in your userspace and present it at Deletion Review to see if it is acceptable yet to the community to return to mainspace. If you need any additional help with this, please do not hesitate to ask. I will add the adoption userboxes to our pages momentarily. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 21:49, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your acceptance. I just saw the userbox seeing that I am officially adopted. That's neat! I have posted the help me request and am looking forward to collaborating together. When I originally asked for help on a help page, another editor indicated that we may have to start from scratch. Either way is fine with me, as long as I have some guidelines to work with. I look forward to seeing what happens. LivingWell4U (talk) 03:45, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

You are welcome and I am happy to help; please note that I do work during the day and so in the coming weeks, I may not be online everyday (I also might be coming down with the flu as I have been congested all day with semi-intense headaches, sweating, peristent coughing, higher than normal blood pressure, fever, sore throat, etc.; so if I am off for a couple days, please do not take it as anything), but when I am online, I will make checking anything related to my adoptees a priority, regardless of whatever else I log on for. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 03:50, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

This is the only thing I have learned so far, I found it on your page, and wanted to share to say thank you. I am sending well wishes your way. It is very kind of you to help at all. Much sincere thanks,

LivingWell4U (talk) 04:12, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

That act of kindness and appreciation has made my night! Best, --A NobodyMy talk 04:13, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Wow, A Nobody, you are incredible. No sooner is the page restored than you are away working on it. Here is Wiki Star of Honor whatever that is- I just made it up!

I am completely blown away by your kindness, at a time when you are not feeling well. I fully expected to have to do all of this work myself, just needed some pointers and direction. This page will wait, so please get your rest, get well, and I will be here when you return. I have asked for support in editing this page from Immunotec, and hopefully between all of us we can come up with a very good factual, neutral page that is not self promo in any way. I will watch to see what you do, and then wait to see when you would like me to make some edits. Should they be suggested here, or made directly on the page? Where we will do our "chatting?"

With much appreciation, Get well soon, LivingWell4U (talk) 05:38, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind words. I am feeling really really out of it (I am so congested I can hardly think, let alone type), but I did not want to leave an adoptee hanging. Anyway, if you have any additional questions, for now as I recover, please just send me emails. I hope to take a good month or two or even more off from Wikipedia. I need to focus on my career. I need to find happiness. I will still respond to and help you with any emails you send, but I am tired of the swearing in AfDs, battleground mentality, laughing at inclusionists, having to argue with those who declare volunteer's contributions "like a dog took a dump in a bucket full of cat shit", having to take seriously arguments in AFDs with those who userspace to list pages to masturbate to, it somehow being acceptable for someone to operate a secret alternate account called User:Tottering Blotspurs created with the single purpse of avoid having "acne-ridden mongoloid fanboys obsessed with keeping every single piece of crap ever written pestering me," needlessly hostile edit summaries, having to discuss with those who make incivil plays on my old username ([1] and [2]), having some refer to those of us who create fiction articles "as vandals, as opposed to editors" by the same account that mockingly refers to me by old username (yes, I know by posting that diff I am making the connection myself here, but since as the flood of emails I have received had revealed it is already being made on an off-wiki attack site anyway...), being called a "shit lover" by someone who kept an attack page against me and another editor in his userpace, and so much, much more beyond these examples. After having to put up with attacks from the now banned various incarnations of User:Eyrian, User:Everyme, User:AnteaterZot, User:Blueanode, User:Dannycali, User:Killerofcruft, and others on (and in some cases even off) wiki, it has become too surreal to try to edit for the time being. I hope that your experiences on Wikipedia will be more pleasant than mine (sorry for the long reply, but wanted to make it clear why I am logging out after this post). Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 17:40, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter Issue XLIII (September 2009)
From the coordinators

Greetings to all members of the Military history WikiProject, and to those outside the project who receive this news letter as well! My name is TomStar81, and it with a great sense of pride that I assume the position of lead coordinator for the project. On behalf of all the coordinators, both new and returning, we wish to thank those of you who participated in the September elections, and we look forward to working to advance the goals of the project for the next six months.

With the elections concluded, there are two changes. First, Roger Davies has been appointed a coordinator emeritus, joining our first coordinator emeritus Kirill Lokshin. Secondly, for the first time ever, the lead coordinator for the Military history WikiProject will be taking a lengthy wikibreak. For those who were unaware of this, I am an undergraduate student, and will be taking a leave of absence, effective end September, to focus on graduating in December. However, with fourteen coordinators, and two coordinators emeritus, I am confident the needs of the project will be well taken care of. For the VIII coordinator tranche, TomStar81 (Talk)

Update on Wikipedia page for Immunocal

Dear A Nobody;

I have obtained the assurance of help from the company that makes Immunocal, Immunotec Research, to bring the Immunocal page to completion for submission. It is quite possible that one of their representatives may ask for your assistance in working on this page. I need to take a break from this for now.

Thanks again for all of your help thus far. I feel privileged to have played a small role on getting the ball rolling, and to bring this page back up to be worked on. I know that once it is finished, it will be a high quality page, giving Immunocal the recognition that it truly deserves. I will include a note on the discussion notes for the page as well.

Hope you and yours are all well.

Cheers, Serendipity81 (talk) 18:32, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Okay and enjoy your break! I am glad I as able to help and yes, I am feeling better, but am still really busy, so am still not going to be on too much for the immediate future. All the best! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 15:42, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

listed as #1 requested non-article

Project: red list has listed this as the #1 requested aricle that doesn't exist. see here. Maybe you could move it to the main space. Should be warmly recieved due to both the new movie and Halloween are coming up. Warmly B.s.n. R.N.contribs 09:00, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Wow, 2,000+ editors want it back. Anyway, sure, happy to oblige; however, when I tried moving it, it said protected. So you will need to request an admin unprotect it and you can cite this diff here as my permission to move it from my userspace to mainspace. Happy editing! Best, --A NobodyMy talk 15:14, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Uggh. I read over the AfDs for the article and looks like it is unlikely to make it to the live space at this time. I credit you and the other editors involved with the article. I find it a very interesting article snd there appears to be a number of people requesting it. Unfortunately, WP: PLOT and WP:OR appear to be the valid reasons for these decisions. I only hope in the future there becomes a larger number of reliable third party sources covering this aspect of the series to cite and validate the article. Thank you for your time responding back to me and have a wonderful day. Warmly B.s.n. R.N.contribs 07:47, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Merging during live AfD

You are receiving this notification because you commented at WT:Articles for deletion#Merging during live AfD. I have started a follow-up discussion at WT:Articles for deletion#Revisiting Merging during live AfD. Flatscan (talk) 02:20, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Well, I am going to log off and either go to sleep or play Tekken 5 on the PS3 and then go sleep, although I am debating watching Saw 3 again as well. Anyway, I am having too enjoyable of a time with off-wiki life to think about or do much with AfD related issues. I appreciate the heads up, but I am just logging in to tie up loose ends and maybe offer some words of encouragement as I did in four now of five RfAs. I primarily "came back" for this weekend (not to sound like one of those "This weekend only, Saturday and Sunday, see monster trucks drive around in circles" commercials) as I received emails concerning my health template (I got better, then sick again last night, oh well... but nothing more than an annoyance and not worth restoring the health template over) and for the sake of my adoptee. You know, I have found not thinking about Wikipedia to a bit of a stress reliever and my time spent focusing more on spending time with my family and all, just more "happy" is the best way to put it. I still see a lot of dishonesty and hypocrisy on some of my watch listed pages that I'd rather not feed into more than is needed. Sorry to ramble, but it is late and I am deciding what I want to do next (sleep, video game, movie, or all of the above?). While I have felt pretty good about this weekend, I still waver over how much happier I was the past couple of weeks. But with regards to the link above, I am not sure what new I could add. I have not commented in any AfDs in a couple weeks nor edited any AfDed articles. And like I said, not worrying about them, i.e. having to check back constantly, has just been like a burden lifted from me. Don't get me wrong, I feel a great deal of satisfaction and accomplishment rescuing articles and believe doing so does a service to thousands of editors and millions of readers, but my talents can help many people in my real world job as well and dedicating more of my time back to that is rewarding in its own right both for me and them. I never want to outright abandon all of those who have helped and supported me here, because just a glance at the list of editors who said nice things about me on my userpage reflects the dozens of editors I at least respect if not consider friends, but at least for now, I just don't have the energy and time for that, so just not sure what more I can say. Yes, I might log in to support someone for RfA or to make some small edit here and there, but my happiness for now is primarily off-wiki and the more happy and therefore enthusiastic I am, the more effectively I can share that with those I mean to help in my real world career as well as with my family. So, good luck to all involved! Anyway, the work week and Halloween festivities begin anew Monday, saw au revoir! :) And as a follow up to my reply to someone else above regarding Donut Connection, I ended up eating both a vanilla angel (powder white cream) and a Halloween one with sprinkles. Losing weight, that also should be a priority!  :) Take care and nest, --A NobodyMy talk 03:47, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

{{helpme}} Is there a way to edit the school break template at the top of my userpage to say that I am "attempting" a school wikibreak? I am logged on today, but am unsure when I will next log back on as I have various school and family functions coming up and anyway, just want it to be clear that I be here on and off (might return again in a day, might not return for a few weeks depending on real life matters ranging from working over an hour away from my own during the week to hopefully going to an amusement park for Halloween activities with the family later in the week). Anyway, I am not skilled with template making and was just hoping to have one up top that said, "I am attempting a wikibreak due to school and Halloween activities and may be back on Wikipedia in a regular fashion sometime down the road, although I have been admittedly feeling kind of good these past two weeks focusing more on my career and family than this project. It is possible, however, that I will not be able to keep away from Wikipedia for that long, and I could be back a lot earlier while making some small edits every so often. Messages left for me may not be replied to for a while and when I do log on, it will mostly likely be to take care of specific matters (thus please do not take offense if it seems like I am ignoring anyone as it not my intention, I just only have time for priority matters)." Anyway, if someone could make a template to say the above, much appreciated! If not, no big deal I guess as I just said as much here. Thanks in any event! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 19:58, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello A Nobody, I think there are two choices there for you. You might wanna change {{Attempting school wikibreak}} to {tlp|subst:Attempting school wikibreak}}, save the page, and edit the page to change the text at your will. Alternatively, you can also check out Template:Attempting school wikibreak for its codes, copy them, create a new template page you wanted(preferably as a subpage of your userpage), paste the code into it and modify the code. Hope this helps. :) Blodance (talk) 20:09, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Rescue Barnstar

Hello A.Nobody!!

I'm creating a project Barnstar in the Portuguese version of Wikipedia, however, i noticed that your Burnstar as you created not appear on our website (in Portuguese), I wonder know if you could you please put your picture in Wikicommons. I´am creating this page just in order to encourage the editors of Wikipedia. Thanks in advanced. Light Warrior (talk) 21:36, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply (too caught up in real life among other things!). I am not sure which barnstar you mean? I have received many barnstars for making good arguments and improving articles, but am not really talented with the creation of templates such as barnstars. Anyway, have you posted on the barnstar or ARS pages? Best, --A NobodyMy talk 04:27, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
No problem Nobody!! I understand your late response. You made this Burnstar on English Wikipedia, however, if i put this picture on Portuguese Wikipedia, the picture will not appear because who posted the picture, was posted directly on Wiki En... Thanks for the Halloween wishes. To be completely honest, I think I've disagreed with you (on RFAs etc) more than we've agreed, but I generally appreciate your input nonetheless. Happy Halloween to you as well. Robofish (talk) 18:46, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

You are welcome! Reasonable disagreement is frequently a good thing, because it challenges us to work toward the best results by considering other possibilities and options. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 18:49, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Too bad I cannot share actual candy here! By the way, the film of the same name as your section heading here is worth seeing. It is kind of like Creepshow, which was also good. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 18:58, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Happy Federated States of Micronesia Independence Day to you!

Kolonia Town looking down from Sokehs Ridge in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia.

A Nobody, thank you very much for your Halloween message on my user page, the now-defunct User talk:Noroton page. It was a bright spot at a bad time. I would wish you a return "Happy Halloween" but, alas, all the candy is eaten and it's just too late for that. Looking up the handy November 3 Wikipedia page, I found that today happens to be Independence Day for Panama as well as the Federated States of Micronesia.

So a tip of the Panama hat to you, and may this Panamanian Independence Day bring you peace, joy and the pacific satisfaction of Balboa on a peak in Darién, discovering a new ocean. And may this Federated States of Micronesia Independence Day envelop you with joy! May you have a happy time celebrating with a stick dance or sitting dance and practicing the glottal stop of the Yapese language! -- JohnWBarber (talk) 22:37, 3 November 2009 (UTC) (a/k/a "Noroton")

Canvassing thread

That's fine, but it should probably go on the AFD's talk page. You can leave a bolded note making reference to it on the AFD itself. Cheers.--chaser (talk) 17:04, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Is it worth bringing up elsewhere, i.e. on the user's talk page and/or ANI? It is pretty clear cut: the nominator only notified all those that said to "delete" and disregarded all those who said to "keep". I would suspect something should be done whether it be to warn the nominator and notify the other sixteen editors from the previous discussion or to speedily close the AfD as now potentially biased or if even this is blockable. Somewhat related to the above, I see an editor who was given a final warning is now dismissing those he disagrees with in this discussion as “fan boys”. Anyway, if you would prefer it be moved to the talk page with a link to it, that is okay by me, i.e. you have my permission to move my post as is best. Take care! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 17:07, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome to ask Merope, but I see "fanboys" not directed at anyone who he is calling a fanboy as different in type and degree than calling someone a prick to his face.--chaser (talk) 21:07, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
