Church abuse edits

[edit]

You reverted my edits due to me "remov[ing] content without adequately explaining why." I should have been more thorough in my reasoning; my reasoning is improving prose and readability of the article. In the United Nations areas, I shifted those towards criticisms of the Church. The edits look to remove a lot, but that is just me streamlining the prose. I did not remove sources; in fact, I added sources through my own research, and improved the overall neutrality of the article.

If you have any questions, let me know. RottenEgg780 (talk) 20:39, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I should have been more thorough and specific with my reasoning; you're absolutely right. It may look like I was removing a lot, and I was, but I kept the sources and only streamlining it to help Wikipedia readers find non-biased and factual information. Please keep the conversation on your talk page. Adakiko (talk) 20:44, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@RottenEgg780: Please don't remove other's talk. See wp:TPG Thank you Adakiko (talk) 20:49, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I responded to your message about my edit on June Duprez's Wikipedia page but I'm not sure if you'll see it so I'll write it again here: I'm sorry that I failed to provide a source. Here is a link to the IMDB page of June Duprez's brother: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0243449/. I'm new to editing; would this be enough to make it reliable information? I'm also not sure what makes him non-notable, as siblings are often listed on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-57154-1 (talk) 00:18, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - the edit I made on this page was not in reference to the living author. It was in reference to a famous author about which Boggs wrote, who died in 1987. Drumdiva2 (talk) 21:54, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Drumdiva2: The NYT article states The publishers call this “the first major biography of Baldwin … to explore Baldwin’s queerness in depth,” and it delivers on that promise in droves. It uses "queerness" not "gayness". My apology for using the BLP warning. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 21:58, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

do NOT be a transmisogynist!

[edit]

Do NOT be a transmisogynist! (not using the Wikipedia article bc it's been made incorrect by transmisogynists) The links weren't changed, only the name of the person who explicitly stated that no one, nor any things, should use their deadname. Read up on style guides. I assure you that they've almost all agreed that using a person's correct name, and not their DEAD name is the correct usage, even if the original source hasn't been updated.

This is Wikipedia's policy: For transgender and nonbinary people, "(the former name should not appear in any page (including questions, lists, redirects, disambiguation pages, category names, templates, etc.), even if reliable sourcing exists. Treat the pre-notability name as a privacy interest)."

And don't write to me again if you can't figure out how to be at least civil. DrPersephone (talk) 21:29, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion that trans feminine people must be subjected to their deadnames is wrong. If Wikipedia has a policy requiring this, then please present it (they don't).
furthermore, all of these are appropriate here:
{{subst:uw-mislead2}} What you wrote in the edit summary is not consistent with the violence in the comment your wrote on my talk page.
thus also: Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to assume bad faith when dealing with other editors, you may be blocked from editing. Assume that they are here to improve rather than harm Wikipedia.

How addition to your talk page here justify all those adjectives? Adakiko (talk) 00:17, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
😂 transmisogynists are small-minded. perhaps a bidet will help? DrPersephone (talk) 01:09, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
DrPersephone, you are the one assuming bad faith here. You have called Adakiko a transmisogynist (not at all helpful to the discussion, whether or not it is true) and misused user warnings (you are not being harassed, personally attacked, or misled, unless you can provide strong evidence; it hasn't been shown in the recent edits).
Your reasoning that "(the former name should not appear in any page (including questions, lists, redirects, disambiguation pages, category names, templates, etc.), even if reliable sourcing exists. Treat the pre-notability name as a privacy interest)" means we should remove Baig's deadname from references is incorrect, and the quote never mentions references.
By the way, there actually is a policy about deadnames in references (MOS:GIDINFO#Current guideline, which also is the manual of style) which explicitly states "In source citations, do not remove names of authors, or references to former names in titles of works". Very clearly saying that you should not remove their deadname.
Also, your most recent comment is borderlining a personal attack. Please act civil. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 01:12, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
