INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FRATERNITY National Council SEC Registration No. CN200825970 Cebu City[reply]

The early beginning of ALPHA DELTA PHI FRATERNITY-PHILIPPINES, INC. started when a man named Manuel M. Momongan enrolled at Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental in the year 1963. His father wanted him to be with his older brother, Jorge M. Momongan who was the former Corp Commander, S.U. ROTC Unit. His father really wanted him to be like his brother, a Cadet Officer in that school. Manuel M. Momongan was also exposed to different kinds of extra-curricular activities. He found time in observing several student organizations like Greek-Letter Fraternities. The thought of founding a Greek-letter fraternity was one of his priorities but his main concern was to follow the dictates of his father. He needed enough preparation about his plan of joining an elite group like ROTC. He then joined the Cadet Officers Candidate School (COCS) and started the ordeal of becoming a member of Red Shield Fraternity, a brotherhood of all ROTC Cadet Officers at Silliman University. It took him 5 months to finish the training course which included among others, the initiation rites. The ordeal paid off and his sacrifices made him a better person; strong and determined individual.

In the year 1964, he finally became an ROTC Cadet Officer, Delta Company. In 1965, he took the Advance Training Course and was assigned in the Alpha Company. During the 1st Semester of 1965, in the course of the training, he found out that his academic rating deteriorated which greatly affected his academic records. He then made a quick decision not to proceed the ROTC Advance Training Course and quit in the second semester of 1965, a decision that got the ire of his father. He has no other recourse but to remain firm not to continue the Training Course. The Greek letters of ALPHA and DELTA were already part of his college life, a reminiscense of his ROTC days. The plan of founding a combination of Greek letters fraternity was already in his mind and the name is ready for its formation and gearing to spread the name nationwide to show how he dearly love the Alpha and Delta. One Greek letter of Alpha can not be separated with Delta. He thought of founding a three combinationS of Greek letters and added the Greek word of PHI, smoother words to as ALPHA DELTA PHI and more easy to put its meaning as ALL DEDICATED and DIGNIFIED PERSONS. For him, Alpha Delta Phi is Parilis Ad Nullus which means Equal To None. His next move was to choose the best among the college students in character and academic standings; dedicated and dignified persons. On December 8, 1965, he invited three of his dormitory mates; Ceasar Repollo, Ceasar Severino and Arlindo Santos in the recreation center, adjacent to their dormitory, Lau-an Cottage. He revealed to them about his plan to form a fraternity, the Alpha Delta Phi. The three agreed the plan and the shaping up was put into action, recruiting the best among the college students in the campus of Silliman University. Eleven college students; Norman Fagsao, Rene Espina, Christopher Diaz, Peter Balbuena, Jonathan Sibala, Cecille Amisacaray, Meriam Amisacaray, Alma Baybay, Adela Patron, Doris Alojado and Arlene Dionaldo were considered as the Pioneers of Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity, Silliman University. In Cebu City 11 college students from different universities were the pioneers of ADP, Glynn C. Cajes, Ricardo C. Maputi Jr., Melvin Sopa, Mohanndas Nino Galenzoga, Salvador Ciudadano III, Ric Juaban, Paul Amora, Joshua P. Martinez, Win Chester L. Ricana, and Aivyn Martin B. Indolos. On November 24, 2011, official merging of ADP-Philippines, Inc and ADP-Palawan took place in Cebu City with the representation of Marlo C. Agbisit and Susan L. Agbisit from ADP-Palawan. ALPHA DELTA PHI FRATERNITY, INC. was duly approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) with Registration Certificate No. CN200825970.

Headline and First Paragraph[edit]

The early beginning of ALPHA DELTA PHI FRATERNITY-PHILIPPINES, INC. started when a young man Manuel M. Momongan enrolled at Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental in 1963. His father wanted him to be with his older brother, Jorge M. Momongan who was the former Corp Commander, S.U. Reserved Officer Training Course (ROTC) Unit. His father wanted him also to become a Cadet Officer. While at the university, he was exposed to different kinds of extra-curricular activities and he found time in observing several student organizations like Greek-Letter Fraternities. The thought of founding one was his obsession but his concern was to follow the dictates of his father. He needed enough preparation in his plan to join an elite group like Cadet Officers Candidate School (COCS). He then joined the course and started the ordeal to become a member of the Red Shield Fraternity, a brotherhood of all ROTC Cadet Officers. It took him 5 months to finish the training course which included among others, initiation rites. The ordeal paid-off and his sacrifices made him a better person; strong and determined individual.

The CREED of ALPHA DELTA PHI FRATERNITY-PHILIPPINES, INC.[edit]

It is our belief that men must bind together in a brotherhood with immutable principles that regard for honor, reverence for justice and respect for humanity;

To defend against the deprivation of freedom and dignity based upon the belief that humanity is lost if freedom is gone; that human lives must be preserved against the spirit of our age;

To show compassion towards one who seeks for truth against the infernal deeds to obliterate the power of reason and the might of courage;

To bear the teachings of God and endeavor not to gain the world at the expense of our true selves. These are the thoughts and ideals, first and foremost in the minds of the Founders of ALPHA DELTA PHI FRATERNITY-PHILIPPINES, INCORPORATED.

MANUEL M. MOMONGAN FOUNDER

FATHER ALMIGHTY, let this fraternity, the Alpha Delta Phi be our shelter and hope. Deliver us from evil and give us strength to do what is right and best. Guide us to be honest in everything we do and keep us strong when we are tempted to do wrong.

Teach us to be humble and fill our minds with your wisdom. Strengthen our resolve Lord, help us to redeem the time you give us everyday and lead us each way to follow and obey.

Feel us Lord, the value of your love and free us from pride and arrogance. Provide us a bond of brotherhood that is for life. Give us your grace to trust you and have faith in you. Dispel the darkness with new hope Lord and help us rise above despair.

Spare us Almighty Father from gang of evil men and keep us safe in your presence. Take us to a safe refuge for you are our protector and strong defense against evil doers.

As we put trust in you Lord, we know that your love has no limit, your grace has no measure, your power has no boundary. Provide us the courage, for courage is not the absence of fear but the master of fear. Amen...
