Normally I will answer on your talk page, unless you request otherwise; I will normally check both pages. If you are editing whilst not logged in, I will reply both on my talk page and yours to increase the chance that you see the message (talk messages to IPs sometimes get lost). I will keep most comments posted on the page, but I reserve the right to refactor comments, archive comments, and trap excessively long signatures in modified AfD closing boxes. I may also use {{RPA}} when appropriate. --ais523

Naughty Legobot...[edit]

Your clever signature prevented the bot from properly reading the timestamp on your nomination and bots don't react well to be unable to parse data they expect to find in a certain format. :) ☺ · Salvidrim! ·  21:30, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

I thought it might be that; adding another five tildes would be my next try after the {{nobots}} tag. (It's still reacting incorrectly; it should leave the page alone if it doesn't understand the timestamp. But at least it's easily fixable.) Clearly, I should have stayed active through the past six years so that bots would get more used to my signature; it predates most of the active bots, but that's no real use if they weren't around to see it. --ais523 21:36, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Too much?[edit]

Thank you so much for your effort in the maintainability of (quotation) templates. I'm not sure if https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template%3AQuote%2FSandbox&diff=631333220&oldid=631331105 is the way to go though. Quotation is already broken with inline styles (which gives problems on mobile, see quotations talk page). Shouldn't we strive for better (i.e. where you wrap the whole thing in a div to keep the block display on the outer level while making use of the margin on the inner - that's definitely better than my first attempt) rather than being pixel-identical to the old version in all non-obviously broken cases? I'm afraid that if we make quote terribly complicated again, the way to better will be harder to find. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 15:55, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I meant to stop by the other week to say that I'm quite glad to see that you're active here again. :-) --MZMcBride (talk) 18:57, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Many thanks for the tool[edit]

Hi! From another user I found your very useful .js script about "bracket matching". Here I thought of an additional enhancement to the tool. Do you know if/how that is possible? Best of wishes. Face-smile.svg--Paracel63 (talk) 11:48, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Catwatch[edit]

Hi, and thanks for building/sharing the CatWatch script. I'm running into a bug (or user error) I'm hoping you can help with. I have a long WatchedCategories list. Additions to some categories do pop up on my watchlist as they're supposed to, but inconsistently. For example, I know that there have been additions in the last two days to Category:Assignment Design Wizard assignment plans, Category:Articles created or improved during ArtAndFeminism 2015, and Category:Specialized encyclopedias. If I remove all but that one on the list, it shows up on my watchlist just fine. Right now I have all three there and only the first two are showing up. Oddly, the last, Specialist encyclopedias, is between those on the list, so formatting seems an unlikely culprit. Is the list just too long to process? Thanks. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 22:04, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
