Welcome from Redwolf24[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P

P.P.S. Good vandal fighting work :D...that grammar there sucked....

as user la-2, and being algebra, I'd like to know if you could help me translating the names of the major modern math branches. Like algebraic geometry, would that be algebraicarum geometry, how would you do differential topology?, group theory? sttistics? etc...

I'm just very curious about that. -- ( drini's page ) 02:12, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Apologies for the late reply. I do not believe that the Romans had very many branches of mathematics. Mathematics itself is 'mathematica' and geometry is 'geometria'. As for group theory, that would probably be 'ratio globus' (ratio meaning theory, and globus meaning crowd or cluster). That's all I'm aware of. Algebra 04:33, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
You might consider talking to User:Rafaelgarcia. I will put a note on Drini's page, too.--Ioscius (talk) 09:47, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Remember to always sign all of your posts on talk pages. Typing four tildes after your comment ( ~~~~ ) will insert a signature showing your username and a date/time stamp, which is very helpful. Algebra 03:47, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Vandalism Userbox[edit]

No problem, seeing as how I stole it from someone else's page ;) -- Huntster T@C 06:26, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Algebra. We got into an edit conflict at. User talk: First of all, {{not censored}} should be substed, just like the other warning templates. Secondly, I overwrote your original warning because I had been writing the user a somewhat personalized version of not censored, which included a link to Wikipedia:introduction and had no irrelevant info (the problem with boilerplate warnings). I hope you don't mind. Picaroon 00:32, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

  • No problem. I forgot about the substing, thanks for fixing that, and I appreciate your effort for writing the user a personalized warning. Algebra 00:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry but that wasnt me. I havent been on wikipedia for a long time. Thank you for notifing me beacause this could mean someone is stealing my internet. If that happens again please tell me about it. Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs) 19:54, Jan 24, 2007 (UTC).

WP:UW future?[edit]

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. I didn't vandalize the dolphin article. Maybe the IP's change. I am a very responsible person. 15:57, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet. Slight point, but omnino means "extremely" or "completely" or "entirely", not "generally". Cheers. --Ioscius (talk) 09:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
