Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Philadelphia Eleven are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Posts such as Talk:Philadelphia Eleven#Alla Renée Bozarth are typically subject to deletion from article talk pages per WP:TALKNO, but I have collapsed it instead so that you can add it to your sandbox if you still want to save the information. In general, an article's talk page is for discussing specific ways to improve an article and not for storing content to be added at a later date or simply making test edits. For that kind of thing, it's better to use your sandbox. Philadelphia Eleven (Notes and references)[edit]

Hi Allah Bozarth,

Just wanted to let you know that I have made some proposals for cleaning up the "Notes" and "References" sections of the article Philadelphia Eleven. You can find these proposals at Talk:Philadelphia Eleven#Notes and references: cleanup proposal. Since you are a major contributor to this article and since you are explicitly mentioned in one of the proposal, any comments or suggestions you may have would be most appreciated. Finally, please understand that these proposals are a good faith attempt to improve the article, and initiate a discussion among concerned editors regarding some issues I have with the article as currently written; they are intended to be comments on content, and not an attempt to single out any specific editor. Thanks in advance. Face-smile.svg - Marchjuly (talk) 00:32, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Dear Friend, Marchjuly. Thank you so much for you efforts and good work. I appreciate what you have done. When I first noticed the existence of this article in March or so, it had nearly 300 footnotes, which I thought was very excessive, but assumed the writer knew what he or she was doing. Later when I began to edit and correct things, I noticed a reduction in the notes. When another editor told me not to add anything unless I cited and referenced a source, I did so. Another editor then removed my notes and the article revision saying they were inappropriate because they referenced a book which I had written. As I explained, I had not added that book. It was there from the beginning, included as a source by the originator of the article whom I do not know. Most authors of books about the specific event use my book as a main source. I simply cited page numbers to correspond with my specific additions. The other editor chiefly requested these to corroborate the dates in my biography section. The book cited is the only place where those dates are documented, though (some are in the Clergy Directory which is already over-cited), and it seemed to me excessive to note each instance. If readers are interested in more data they can use the source material references, but again assuming that the other editor knew more than I did, I complied. Then, as I said, my additions were removed. I do not mind at all. I'm simply torn between the requests of two conflicting editors, one for more and the other for less. I prefer less so have left things as they are. I did add nine notes of the 193, not counting those which were removed by another editor, but none of the rest. I can remove my nine remaining notes but fear another demand for citation will be asked. Most of the notes were added by the originator, I believe, Janus 523, and I hope that you will contact that person with your helpful suggestions. Thank you, Marchjuly, and again, I am having trouble figuring out how to reply to your offerings directly and hope you will find this. Please delete this if it is inappropriate, but do contact Janus 523 about notes/references. Thank you so much.Scholarwise (talk) 03:34, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
