Welcome and introduction[edit]

Hi, Amy Cridge. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person by golly! And this real person (that would be me), wants to say welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've made an account! Thanks for joining; you're on your way to making some great contributions.

Because I've noticed you've just joined, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. Any questions are fine, nothing is too silly (we've heard them all). Now, the tips below - hop on them - they should help you begin editing. Best of luck! Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet!
  • Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us.
  • When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. (You'll want to sign your name with these four tildes ~~~~ when you leave something on a talk page to help know who you are!)

Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

P.S. If you just feel like poking around, Wikipedia:Help is a good place to start. :)

Talk:Self-enhancement[edit]

Hi there. Just to say that you're not supposed to delete or edit other people's contributions on a Wikipedia Talk page. You're also supposed to use the edit summary to explain what you're doing when you make a change. I realise you're a newcomer, but it looks bad if you repeatedly delete stuff without discussing why. Thanks, MartinPoulter (talk) 11:28, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Martin. Thanks for the advice. Obviously I am not very au-fait with things! I am hopefully beginning to get to grips with the world of wikipedia, albeit very slowly. I have been playing around with formatting and wikipedia in general on my user page and hope to edit the "real" self-enhancement article in the next week. When I do I will be sure to write a commentary in the edit summary box! And apologies for the deletion, I didn't mean to offend! All the best, Amy Cridge 22:45, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Assessment[edit]

Hi. There isn't really a formal process for getting an assessment. Just look at the assessment criteria and make your own, or ask an active member. If someone else disagrees they may say so! This is all rather unsatisfactory so if you want some independent validation of your work you could try WP:GA. Here are the criteria.Fainites barleyscribs 20:27, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, type four tildes like this ~~~~ on all talk page posts and all your posts will automatically be dated and signed.Fainites barleyscribs 09:42, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
