So called "Vandalism"[edit]

Dear sir, throwing the vandalism accusation at me, you have violated WP:AGF. Do you honestly believe that a longtime wikipedian, and admin at a sister project (ru.wikt) would fall as low as vandalizing articles? Please carefully study the paragraph in subject, and you will realize that I improved it, not vandalized. After that, I expect apology. -- Wesha (talk) 23:20, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

P.S. After reviewing the edit history, I realize that I have accidentally deleted the "|thumb" off the Image: tag. Sorry about that. But nevertheless a technical mistake or typo doesn't make vandalism. In the future, please pay closer attention. Always ask yourself question, "why was this done?" -- Wesha (talk) 23:25, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:47, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Triserv-600.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Triserv-600.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 21:47, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Bahá'í gardens by David Shankbone edit 2.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Bahá'í gardens by David Shankbone edit 2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Andrewrp. You have new messages at Seonookim's talk page.
Message added 05:59, 11 June 2013 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I don't have a lot of WP-time this June, you can wait or ask someone else. Seonookim (What I've done so far) (I'm busy here) (Tell me your requests) 05:59, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Write something - try and contribute to a DYK or GA. Take a look at WP:GAN and try and review someone's nomination about a subject you know something about. Writing content helps one appreciate the effort that is put into it. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:22, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Try not to spend overwhelming amounts of time in areas which are sites of frequent conflict such as WP:AFD and WP:AN/I, especially if you have a short temper.
Lots of gnome work to do - what are you interested in? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:26, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Anti-protest laws in Ukraine, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Church (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Removing Unsourced Material Does Not Constitute Vandalism in this Case[edit]

I removed unsourced material, and you reverted it.

Please refer to WikiProject:Magic, particularly the section that reads:

The method of this article was deleted because it had no attribution, source, or citation. See Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:No original research. This is also in accordance with Wikipedia:WikiProject:Magic policy, as stated below: If information about a method is quoted from another freely available source then it becomes more difficult for magicians to argue that Wikipedia is the point at which exposure is occurring. Proper citation of sources should also help to defend Wikipedia against any action for breach of confidentiality. In addition, some unsourced information on methods that has crept into Wikipedia appears speculative and inaccurate, which undermines the quality of the Magic Project generally and contravenes WP:NOR It is therefore especially vital to adhere to WP:Attribution. -- If a method is added to an article but no reference is provided the following from WP:Attribution will apply: "Any edit lacking attribution may be removed, and the final burden of evidence lies with the editor wishing to add or retain the material." Given the sections above about controversial material and original research this can be applied immediately and overrides the practice of tagging information as unsourced and then waiting for a period to see whether citations are subsequently provided. A request for sources for a method should be placed on the talk page. Only when a full citation can be provided can the method be added to the article. It is recommended that a link to these guidelines be included in the message. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShimmeryPhantom (talkcontribs) 01:09, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Potential admin[edit]

Hi, I notice you're on Wikipedia:List of administrator hopefuls. Wikipedia would benefit from more admins. If you have been editing for more than 12 months (preferably 24+ months), and have been editing fairly consistently for the past 6 months (preferably 12+ months) with at least 100 edits a month (this tool will help) - or an explanation for any gaps, and haven't been blocked in the past three years - or a good explanation for a recent block, don't have a recent history of edit warring or arguing with other editors, feel you can explain why you wish to be an admin, can demonstrate some understanding of Wikipedia's procedures and processes, or know where to go for guidance, and are confident enough to go through a RfA, please get in touch with me. We can talk about it some more, and if all looks OK, I'll nominate you. SilkTork ✔Tea time 01:57, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I notice you are not active at the moment. No worries. I'll mark you down on my list as not active at the moment, but if you do become active again, please do get in touch so we can talk in detail about how likely you are to meet the criteria to become an admin, or what you need to be doing to improve your chances. Regards SilkTork ✔Tea time 16:06, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Andrewrp,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Magic Wand Icon 229981 Color Flipped.svg

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

Not ignoring electric power lines besides mains, at fire alarm call box[edit]

I tried to improve fire alarm call box (with this dynamic IP address) by specifying that VoIP equipment needs external power to run, rather than just "power" period. But that improvement got reverted by a user who doesn't understand telephony enough to know that PSTN lines have their own power that basic phones run on. ("Well, DUH, what did you think the basic phones ran on: magic fairy dust?") So before I added the improvement that he faultily reverted, the article made the errant implication that the only kind of line power comes from mains, hence my having added clarification words such as "external" to "power," to indicate to the people whom my above parenthetical phrase applies to that PSTN lines have their own power, while the article already covers that VoIP and the charging of cell phones takes another source of line power. So let's agree to use my improvement in this regard, rather than regressing the article to a less correct form, shall we?

I left this at the talk page there. Will you please come and help out?

Thanks, if so,
