No such thing as taking all the credit is there. LOL Chubbennaitor 09:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

On the Portal you said it was all your work. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Chubbennaitor 09:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Portal Peer review. Chubbennaitor 09:55, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't. I just mentioned it in a joke (hence the LOL). I wasn't bothered just wanted you to realise what you'd done. Chubbennaitor 10:01, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I know but it's the best I can do here. It's just nice to have a mention. I won't bring it back up again. I'm fixing up 2008 Turkish GP by the way. Chubbennaitor 13:09, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Do you have or know of any pictures we can get for Turkey? I really did choose a hard one. But Turkey was so packed full with the pre and post race issues. Super Aguri, Rubens Barrichello 257th GP etc. Chubbennaitor 20:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Insane Idea newsletter (March)

Delivered on March 6, 2009 by Apterygial. If you do not wish to receive future newsletters (assuming, of course, that there will be future newsletters), please let me know on the project talk page.

This is a good idea! Keep them coming.--Diniz(talk) 00:02, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

File:Lewis rounds turn 2 Canada 2008 edit.PNG

Would you mind if I proposed this image as a replacement for the current WP:F1 logo, which is two years out-of-date, on the project talk page? It's always something that's bugged me.--Diniz(talk) 15:40, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks; have posted it at WT:F1. Thanks also for contributing your 2¢ to Shannon Racing, and for the handy countdown on your user page! ;) --Diniz(talk) 00:38, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Force India VJM02

Updated DYK query On March 9, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Force India VJM02, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Portal:Formula One

Thanks. I had another day dedicated to me before, in December. With regards to the portal, I believe it's rather too bold to remove lead image. Try find a digital checker-flag image on Commons and put it as lead image. OhanaUnitedTalk page 15:32, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm just worried about "word-squeeze", which is the pictures on both sides squeeze the words in the middle and making it difficult to read. One image should suffice. OhanaUnitedTalk page 03:19, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

2008 Bahrain Grand Prix

  • Hi - I did some very minor changes to the above yesterday with the intention of making the introduction flow a little better as it was written in a very staccato style. I see that you have immediately reverted these edits and your edit summary reads 'tidy'! I'm just mystified as to how you see your actions as a 'tidy' and why you reverted my changes. Regards --Paste Let’s have a chat. 08:45, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

2008 German Grand Prix

Hi, Apterygial.

First, thanks very much for your PR. I have done all of the stuff you and AlexJ suggested apart from the post-race (I'll probably do that tomorrow, if not the next day!).

I am now ready for some more things to fix if you would like to tell me them. Thanks,

Darth Newdar (talk) 17:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I have now fixed all the problems that Diniz raised, apart from the copyedit, which I have asked Diniz to do for me. Is there anything else I need to do to the article before I go to GAN? Darth Newdar (talk) 15:07, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Lost moral

I wan't doing anything and then I took on the hardest one. I was just happy it wasn't stub class. It's not you. I've never done this before. I've mainly been dealing with my Flickr account because my yahoo went 'kapuut'. Plus I've got an A in my ICT exam, so I'm happy. Chubbennaitor 07:42, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes in both. Chubbennaitor 14:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject Motorsport Barnstar.png I, Chubbennaitor hereby award you the Motorsport Barnstar for your recent work on WP:MII, your dedication in WP:F1 and helping with the revamp of the Portal:F1.

BTW:I've hit the jackpot on 2009 F1 images. Chubbennaitor 15:33, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Why thank you

I wasn't expecting one back. Sorry if the box wasn't right it wouldn't work. Chubbennaitor 07:54, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

You've been busy today. Have you really been here that long! Chubbennaitor 08:31, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
look here.
They don't say what you've done, but I find it interesting especially as I'm fairly good at reading graphs. Chubbennaitor 08:39, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree. The fourth one's great. Chubbennaitor 08:53, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

2009 British Grand Prix

I'm going to this Grand Prix for my Birthday. YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS. Expect a lot of images of very bad quality (My debut). Chubbennaitor 19:05, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Re:Another kind of article

Sounds interesting; I'm definitely up for it! And only one week to go before I have access to the Autocourse again... ;)--Diniz(talk) 23:15, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

After a preliminary examination of the car articles, I have no idea which one I would like to improve, so I'll get back to you on that.--Diniz(talk) 23:19, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I tried to base the B-class Benetton B186 and Lola T93/30 articles loosely on those FAs when I wrote them. And it should indeed be a wholly different challenge from the race report articles.--Diniz(talk) 23:24, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, the Williams FW30 article is already at a decent level, but to be honest I prefer to start off with the freedom of a 'blank sheet of canvas'. I'll let you know when I make my decision. And it may be a bit longer than a week on reflection, as I've realised that I've committed myself to a couple of other tasks, in addition to some personal projects I want to progress during the holiday. And there's also a draft article for the 107% rule that's been festering in my sandbox for a while... ;) --Diniz(talk) 23:29, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Ferrari numbers

I agree with your sentiment, and I was arguing to leave it alone as well. The thing is, when someone comes in and changes it, arguing in an aggressive fashion, you end up in a ridiculous argument. I maintain that any argument with Eightball is a ridiculous argument, but I'll not just walk away and let him make unencyclopedic edits. I'll assume you're joking about the president bit... enjoy the season :) Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:58, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

I came here to tell you I wouldn't edit it again because you asked nicely and that counts for something. I nearly changed my mind because of the smugness of the above comment, but be proud that your tact outweighed it. The thing is, someone who argues for not changing the numbers clearly does not know anything about F1, because it implies that Ferrari is taking a chassis, fitting it with Raikkonen's seat, his name on the side, and then deliberately giving it the wrong number. And then I get people telling me I'm being unencyclopedic. Whatever, at some point you have to realize that people already view everything they read on Wikipedia with a healthy dose of skepticism, a few more errors can't hurt...right? Enjoy the season. Eightball (talk) 05:54, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

OK. I understand. I thought that the Spanish one needed a better image. What about the better pictures from a different angle from the 2008 Oz GP? They're good. I thought that the Oz GP needed a better picture. There we go. I'm fine if you revert them. Chubbennaitor 08:05, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

What about the Japan one which we know is at Suzuka not Fuji this time. I've found a pit stop one? File:Scuderia Ferrari Pit Stop1.JPG Chubbennaitor 13:56, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

I was wondering whether a computer piece of artwork based on an image that we use here is legal to be used for public domain. Chubbennaitor 19:44, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

By. i've just had enough. Chubbennaitor 21:22, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi I notice that after the conversation about the edit war that Chubbenaitor subsequently retired. I was wondering if there was any point in taking Ironholds to WP:RFC or WP:WQA beacuse of his incivility? --DFS454 (talk) 16:19, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

File:Circuit de Catalunya Turns 1-3.jpg is a decent picture of turns 1-3 at Barcelona. Plus can you respond to the above. Chubbennaitor 20:40, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Insane Idea

I should be able to start work on the commitments I made earlier, after I've expanded the 1995 European Grand Prix article for D.M.N.. Would you prefer me to work on the Hungarian GP article first, or the car article (which I've decided will be the Renault R28)?--Diniz(talk) 19:20, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

I definitely plan on doing both, don't worry. :P I actually couldn't make my mind up on which one to do first, but I suppose that seeing if the 2008 car articles can be incorporated into the remit of the II is more important than "yet another" race report!--Diniz(talk) 23:01, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello again. (I've gone mad)

Just one little niggle. [1]

Brawn colour

Because Brawn uses a bright yellow, and that was a lime-toned green/yellow. In any case, the majority of Brawn's colourscheme is white. Pyrope 17:50, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

For the majority of team boxes the major colour is the background and the accent colours are used as the text colour. This isn't really feasible for Brawn as that yellow wouldn't make a good text colour. Pyrope 13:59, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

DYK for 2009 Australian Grand Prix

Updated DYK query On 4 April, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 2009 Australian Grand Prix, which you recently nominated. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Shubinator (talk) 04:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Yep, very true on both counts. ;) Cs-wolves(talk) 10:41, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

All the 2009 race reports are now either piped "Grand Prix" or "[Grand Prix's name] Grand Prix". I'm not quite sure which one is correct; any thoughts? Darth Newdar (talk) 11:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Quick note

Just wanted to say that I am in no way denigrating all the work you and others do to get articles up to FA/GA standard - there's real skill involved in that and it's work that Wikipedia wants done. I'm just having my little moan ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

I've just read the FA review you mentioned... my god. There's no way I could have stuck through that, and my admiration for you FA-chasing editors has risen considerably. It strikes me that one or two editors, like Ling Nut, were just trying to be difficult, no? I think it's very hard to strike a balance between catering for the uninitiated while still trying to please the hardcore fans. When you think about it, no other publication has to do that - Autosport, for example, assumes a high level of prior knowledge, and even a daily newspaper assumes more prior knowledge than some Wiki editors would allow. It's an eye-opener for me, for sure! Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:55, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Talk:2008 Bahrain Grand Prix/GA1

Time for me to sleep. I'll try and finish the review tomorrow. Thanks! Viriditas (talk) 12:12, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I'm back, and I'm going to try and knock out the rest of the review, if I can. Viriditas (talk) 08:33, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, the questions are great. But I may need to get my eyes checked... :) Viriditas (talk) 10:56, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it's time for me to sleep again. I will try and get up early and review the rest of the article. I hope to have it passed as a GA by late tomorrow night. Thanks! Viriditas (talk) 11:19, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the holiday greetings, and the same to you. I will be in and out for the next few hours, but I probably won't finish up until later tonight. Viriditas (talk) 02:03, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

On a related note, the good article review for 2008 German Grand Prix has also begun (just in case you weren't watching it). Darth Newdar hasn't edited for several days, so it might be worth keeping an eye on it.--Diniz(talk) 02:22, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

I was watching it, and I think we can safely deal with the minor issues to keep the review moving on, but Darth Newdar should tackle any the reviewer deems to be fundamental or endemic. Apterygial 02:57, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

I stayed up late to try and finish, but I couldn't do it. I'll try again tomorrow. Have a great day! :) Viriditas (talk) 14:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I passed the article and I left many suggestions for improvement in the review. I also think the "Race" section can be tightened up a bit. Thanks! Viriditas (talk) 12:31, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the very kind comments. I'm not sure how to answer your question, other than to tell you that I didn't actually finish the review until last night, at which time I passed it. I could have put it on hold due to my suggestions (and I think this is where your question comes into play), but at that point, I didn't feel my suggestions were necessary to change the outcome; I just wanted to finish reviewing it. But, there are a few proposed changes I recommend taking a look at on the review page when you have some time. Thanks! Viriditas (talk) 20:10, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
I saw it. :) I hope everything is going well for you. Thanks for contacting me! Viriditas (talk) 10:27, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

2008 German Grand Prix: Good article!

Thanks! I am taking a short (I promise) break from wikis in general for a few weeks, but when I come back I'll begin working on the next article for the Insane Idea. Darth Newdar (talk) 16:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Wow, MII has took over! Only just noticed how much progress has been made. I'm working as well.... slowly.... and slowly.... and slowly! ;) D.M.N. (talk) 17:00, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Re:2008 Spanish Grand Prix

I've taken a look at the article, made some minor edits, and left some suggestions on the talk page. Good luck with progressing it to GA/FA status!

I've also started work on expanding the Renault R28 article in my sandbox, so expect some more MII developments soon. ;) --Diniz(talk) 17:14, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

No hurry; I won't take Forti any further until my summer holidays, which start in June. I head back to uni on Friday so I probably won't be able to complete a full draft of Renault R28, but I'll do as much as I can. Unfortunately I don't think I have the space to take last year's Autocourse and 18 or so issues of Autosport back with me, not to mention the distraction from exam term that they would cause!--Diniz(talk) 16:13, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Sorry I haven't had time to do a detailed look over this. I've had a quick glance over it, and can't see anything obvious that would prevent it getting GA status. AlexJ (talk) 01:09, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't know if you watch this page, but some good quality images are now available from recent Malaysian GP. Could be a good addition. LeaveSleaves 20:29, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Must have forgotten to put it on my watchlist. I'll take a look. Apterygial 00:25, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Just to let you know I have also suggested a possible image. Darth Newdar (talk) 17:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
And another! Darth Newdar (talk) 06:59, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Woddup

1. I have no problem with waiting, if you think it would hinder the FPOC process. 2. Of course you can; I don't think I'm going to be able to do it any time soon anyway. Any help you need, just ask. Cdhaptomos talkcontribs 16:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Just added one for Chinese GP. Feel free to add alternates if you can think of better ones. Also couple of suggestions added for portal. Do review them when you have the chance. LeaveSleaves 16:15, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

I have also left you a couple of DYKs to have a look at, can be found at Portal talk:Formula One/Did you know. Darth Newdar (talk) 06:59, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Another couple there for you - one from me, one from somebody else. Darth Newdar (talk) 14:06, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

2008 Turkish Grand Prix ref

Hi Apterygial, In the references section of the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix, the article that I am now working on, there is some Autosport thing called "Massa Attack", cited as a publication. I can't read it, as you have to be subscribed to Autosport to read it. It is also not actually cited in the article. So, what do I do with it? Darth Newdar (talk) 20:03, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

I have now just realised that two refs cited just say "Hughes, pg. xx". They obviously refer to this ref, so I have now moved the "Massa Attack" thing, to reference those two. Sorted! Darth Newdar (talk) 15:01, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
